Hello there!

To find the slope of a line, we need to know at least two points contained in the graph of the line.

The slope m of a line passing through the points (x_0,~y_0) and (x_1,~y_1) is given by the formula: m=\dfrac{y_1-y_0}{x_1-x_0}.

As we can see on the graph, two points contained on the line are (-2,~0) and (3,~4).

Using the formula above, we get that:

m=\dfrac{4-0}{3-(-2)}

Subtract the values on both numerator and denominator of the fraction

m=\dfrac{4}{5}~~\checkmark

This is the slope of this line we were looking for.

How can you inscribe a regular polygon in a circle?
dalvyx [7]

Answer:

For a shape to be inscribed means that it's area is smaller than that of the other shape. Essentially, it's one shape inside another.

View my crudely drawn example for visualization. There, the square-ish shape is inscribed in the circle.

(You can basically inscribe any shape within another.)

PtichkaEL [24]

Answer:

a

 P( X >  46)  = 0.7 \  minute

b

\mu  = 42 \ minute

Step-by-step explanation:

From the question we are told that

   The procedure for performing a certain task is uniformly distributed on the interval from( a =  32 )minutes to (b= 52) minutes

  Generally the cumulative distribution function for continuous uniform distribution is

             F(x) =  \left \{ {{0 \ \ \ \ \  for  \  x \  x < a} \atop {\frac{x-a}{b-a} } \ \   for \  a \le x \ge b} \atop {1 \ \ \ \ \ \ \  for  \  x  >  b }\right.

Generally the probability that it takes more than 46 minutes to learn the procedure is mathematically represented as

          P( X >  46)  = F(46) = \frac{46 - 32}{52-32}

=>       P( X >  46)  = 0.7 \  minute

Generally the average time required to learn the procedure is mathematically represented as

        \mu =  \frac{a + b}{2}

=>     \mu  =  \frac{32 + 52}{2}

=>     \mu  = 42 \ minute
