Distance is a scalar quantity that refers to "how much ground an object has covered" during its motion. Displacement is a vector quantity that refers to "how far out of place an object is"; it is the object's overall change in position.

A concave mirror has a radius of curvature of 10 cm. Find the location an height of the image if the distance of the object is 8
puteri [66]
R=10
F=R/2
F=10/2=5
F=-5(CONCAVE MIRROR)
U=-8(CONCAVE MIRROR)
HEIGHT OF OBJECT=1.5
V=?
HEIGHT OF IMAGE=?
I/F=1/U+1/V
-I/5=-1/8-1/V
-1/V=-1/5+1/8
-1/V=-8+5/40
-1/V=-3/40
1/V=3/40
V=40/3

HEIGHT OF IMAGE/HEIGHT OF OBJECT =-V/U
HEIGHT OF IMAGE=40/3*1/-8*15/10
                              =-20/8
                              =-2.5

An astronaut's pack weighs 17.5 N when she is on earth, but only 3.24 N when she is on the surface of an asteroid. What is the a
Nimfa-mama [501]

Answer:

a= 1.81 m/s²

Explanation:

Ratio of the weights on both surfaces can be calculated as,

\frac{W_{a} }{W_{E} }=\frac{ma}{mg}

Here;

   Wa is the weight on the asteroid,       W_{E} is weight on earth,

         m is mass of pack,          a is acceleration due to an asteroid and

         g is acceleration due to gravity.

         Rearrange above equation for a,

           a=g (\frac{Wa}{W_{E} })

Substitute 3.24 N for Wa,       17.5 N for  W_{E},

          9.81 m/s² for g in the above equation,

          a= 9.81(\frac{3.24}{17.5})

          a= 1.81 m/s²

Can the velocity of a body revese the direction when acceleration is constant?
TEA [102]

Answer:

Yes, the velocity of the object can reverse direction when its acceleration is constant. For example consider that the velocity of any object at any time t is given as: ... At At t = 0 sec, the magnitude of velocity is 2m/s and is moving in the forward direction i.e.v (t) = -2.
