Answer:

The potential at a point is 400 V.

Explanation:

Given that,

The electric potential at a point that is halfway between two identical charged particles is 300 V

Potential V= 300 V

Let the distance between the charge is 2r.

The potential at mid point

Using formula of potential

V=\dfrac{kq}{r}

At mid point,

V=V'+V''

V=\dfrac{kq}{r}+\dfrac{kq}{r}

\dfrac{2kq}{r}=300...(I)

If the potential at a point that is 25% of the way from one particle to the other

We need to calculate the distance between the charge

d=2r\times\dfrac{25}{100}

d=\dfrac{r}{2}

We need to calculate the new potential

Using formula of potential again

V=V'+V''

V=\dfrac{kq}{\dfrac{r}{2}}+\dfrac{kq}{\dfrac{3r}{2}}

V=\dfrac{2kq}{r}+\dfrac{2kq}{3r}

V=\dfrac{2kq}{r}(1+\dfrac{1}{3})

Put the value of \dfrac{2kq}{r}

V=300\times(1+\dfrac{1}{3})

V=400\ V

Hence, The potential at a point is 400 V.

How can i prove the conservation of mechanical energy?
FinnZ [79.3K]

Answer:

We can also prove the conservation of mechanical energy of a freely falling body by the work-energy theorem, which states that change in kinetic energy of a body is equal to work done on it. i.e. W=ΔK. And ΔE=ΔK+ΔU. Hence the mechanical energy of the body is conserved

stira [4]

The solution to this ques is available in the image.

Given,

Force= 1N

Mass= 0.11kg

Time= 5sec

Force= mass X accelaration

Accelaration= velocity/ time

Speed=distance/ time

Hence, the speed is 45 m/s and the distance is 225 m.
