The base area of this second rectangular prism is 51 cm²

The rectangular prism completely filled with sand has a base area of 85cm² and height of 15cm .

volume of a rectangular prism

 • volume = Bh

where

B = base area

h = height

Since the first rectangular prism was completely filled with sand and it completely filled the second rectangular prism, it means they both have the same volume.

Therefore,

volume of the first rectangular prism = volume of the second rectangular prism.

 • volume = Bh
 • volume = 85 × 15
 • volume = 1275 cm³

Therefore, the base area of the second rectangular prism can be calculated as follows:

volume = Bh

1275 = 25B

B = 1275 / 25

B = 51 cm²

Can someone help me out on this please??
Alona [7]

Answer:

a is growth and b is decay

Step-by-step explanation:

a is growth because it is adding cause the percentage is 1 or higher so that would make b decay because it is subtracting because the percentage is lower than 1 so it would be like 0.12

Answer:

 (b) 10.5 in

Step-by-step explanation:

The formula for the volume of a cone is ...

 V = 1/3πr²h . . . . . . for radius r and height h

Then the height is ...

 h = 3V/(πr²)

Your cone has a volume V = 199 in³ and radius r = 4.25 in, so the height is ...

 h = 3(199 in³)/(π(4.25 in)²) ≈ 10.52 in

The height of the cone is about 10.5 inches.
