Hard water can not be used for laundry while soft water can be used for laundry.

Types of water

There are basically two types of water, hard water and soft water. The following is a comparison of the properties of hard water and soft water.

 • Hard water do not form lather with soap while soft water forms lather with soap.
 • Hard water contains calcium and magnesium ions while soft water does not contain calcium and magnesium ions.
 • Hard water forms white patches when boiled in a kettle but soft water does not do that.

Hence hard water can not be used for laundry while soft water can be used for laundry .

How reactive is an atom of Sodium(Na) and why?
s344n2d4d5 [400]
3rd one:
it is very reactive because it does not have a full Valence shell.

this is because it's in group 1 so it has one electron in its outer shell, and it wants to have a full outer shell ( which it can gain by losing the electron in a reaction).

Hope this helps :)

How does the energy of an electron change when the electron moves closer to the nucleus?
makkiz [27]
The energy of the electron reduces as it moves closers to the nucleus. This is because it moves from a higher energy orbital to a one of lower energy. It does this by releasing a photon with the energy difference of the current energy level, and the energy level it drops too.

Which of these atoms has the largest number of neutrons in the nucleus?
viktelen [127]

Holonium and Gadolinium has the highest number of neutrons in the nucleus.

Looking at the atoms listed;

Dysprosium has 66 protons

Holonium has 67 protons

Neodymium has 60 protons

Europium has 63 protons

Gadolinium has 64 protons

Then,

Number of neutrons = Mass number - number of protons

For Dysprosium

157 - 66 = 91 neutrons

For Holonium

162 - 67 = 95 neutrons

For Neodymium

149 - 60 = 89 neutrons

For Europium

148 - 63 = 85 neutrons

For Gadolinium

159 - 64 = 95 neutrons

Hence, Holonium and Gadolinium has the highest number of neutrons in the nucleus.
