Why was the geocentric model the leading theory for such a long time even though the heliocentric model more simply explain the

observed motions and brightness of the planets

Answer: Although the heliocentric theory is simpler and corresponds to the observed movements, both Galilean and Kepler presented sufficient evidence to contradict this model. It is obvious that it cost a little to be accepted by the scientific community and certainly religion generated many difficulties, however the sociopolitical context of Europe and America would make this theory more and more accepted by the population

In a crude model of a rotating diatomic molecule of chlorine (Cl2), the two Cl atoms are 2.00 ✕ 10-10 m apart and rotate about t
Troyanec [42]

Answer:

1.03723\times 10^{-20}\ J

Explanation:

r = Radius of atom = 1\times 10^{-10}\ m

m = Mass of chlorine atom = 5.88\times 10^{-26}\ kg

\omega = Angular speed = 4.2\times 10^{12}\ rad/s

The moment of inertia of the system is given by

I=2mr^2\\\Rightarrow I=2\times 5.88\times 10^{-26}\times (10^{-10})^2\\\Rightarrow I=1.176\times 10^{-45}\ kgm^2

Kinetic energy is given by

K=\dfrac{1}{2}I\omega^2\\\Rightarrow K=\dfrac{1}{2}\times 1.176\times 10^{-45}\times (4.2\times 10^{12})^2\\\Rightarrow K=1.03723\times 10^{-20}\ J

The rotational kinetic energy of one molecule of the atom is 1.03723\times 10^{-20}\ J

A college student is working on her physics homework in her dorm room. her room contains a total of 6.0×1026 gas molecules. as s
ella [17]
<span>6.6 degrees C Let's model the student as a 125 w furnace that's been operating for 11 minutes. So 125 w * 11 min = 125 kg*m^2/s^3 * 11 min * 60 s/min = 82500 kg*m^2/s^2 = 82500 Joule So the average kinetic energy increase of each gas molecule is 82500 J / 6.0x10^26 = 1.38x10^-22 J Now the equation that relates kinetic energy to temperature is: E = (3/2)Kb*Tk E = average kinetic energy of the gas particles Kb = Boltzmann constant (1.3806504Ă—10^-23 J/K) Tk = Kinetic temperature in Kelvins Notice the the energy level of the gas particles is linear with respect to temperature. So we don't care what the original temperature is, we just need to know by how much the average energy of the gas particles has increased by. So let's substitute the known values and solve for Tk E = (3/2)Kb*Tk 1.38x10^-22 J = (3/2)1.3806504Ă—10^-23 J/K * Tk 1.38x10^-22 J = 2.0709756x10^-23 J/K * Tk 6.64 K = Tk Rounding to 2 significant digits gives 6.6K. So the temperature in the room will increase by 6.6 degrees K or 6.6 degrees C, or 11.9 degrees F.</span>

4. Some early mornings , dew drops can be found on grass or a car parked outside,
horsena [70]

In some early mornings , dew drops can be found on grass or a car parked outside, but not on other materials such as the sidewalk because  the night -time temperature on grass and the car went below the dew point, but  the temperature of the concrete did not drop enough to reach the dew point  level

Dew can be formed on any object when the temperature of the object drop. When this happen, the object will be cool which will eventually cool the surrounding air around the object.

Dew drops is as a result of condensation in the air. When the cool air causes the air vapor to convert to liquid. The dew will form when the temperature of the object balances with the dew point in the surrounding environment.

In some early mornings , dew drops can be found on grass or a car parked outside, but not on other materials such as the sidewalk because  the night -time temperature on grass and the car went below the dew point, but  the temperature of the concrete did not drop enough to reach the dew point  level

Therefore the correct option is therefore A

Science Question please help
topjm [15]

Answer:

1.29 s

Explanation:

Given:

Δy = 1.40 m

v₀ = 0 m/s

a = 1.67 m/s²

Find: t

Δy = v₀ t + ½ at²

(1.40 m) = (0 m/s) t + ½ (1.67 m/s²) t²

t = 1.29 s
