X= 14.375
I don't know what the question is asking for the fractions part down below but to get to x:
First you Distribute.
1.5•4x=6x
1.5•-1=1.5
Combined it's 3x-1.5.

The second part:
Distribute again:
-1•x= -x
-1•2= -2
Combined it's 56-x

All Together it's 3x-1.5=56-x
Solve that and you get x=14.375

Can someone help ?? please
Amanda [17]
The y-intercept is the starting point. Since the temperature started at -7, we know that b in y = mx + b has to be -7. m is the slope which in our case is 3 because the temperature is changing every hour. So, because the temperature is going up, it's +3. Our equation should be y = 3x - 7.
