If you are working with an extension ladder that has 15 rungs in each of the two sliding sections, this is a 30-foot extension ladder. It can be easily estimated by adding both lengths.

What is an extension ladder?

An extension ladder refers to a portable ladder that can be adjusted in its length and easily managed by the operator.

An extension ladder is very useful to climb up and/or down, thereby this tool should have vertical supports along its whole length in order to avoid accidents.

This type of ladder (extension ladder) may have different sections in order to reach a specific length during work.

A metal crystallizes with a face-centered cubic lattice. The edge of the unit cell is 408 pm. Calculate the number of atoms in t
uysha [10]

Answer:288 pm

Explanation:

Number of atoms(s) for face centered unit cell -

Lattice points: at corners and face centers of unit cell.

For face centered cubic (FCC), z=4.

- whereas

For an FCC lattices √2a =4r =2d

Therefore d = a/√2a = 408pm/√2a= 288pm

I think with this step by step procedure the, the answer was clearly stated.

What ways are people and their communities impacted by wildfire?
skelet666 [1.2K]

Explanation:

Aren't these all correct? I mean all of these are possibilities, except for the first one and the 5th one. I'll explain them all :)

1) Destruction of wildlife habitat

This doesn't really affect people. Mainly the animals living in the wild, because their homes would get burnt down, or ruined so they need to find a new place to live.

2) Timber Industry Losses

Wildfires can lower job rates in the timber industry, which can leave people struggling, looking for a new job.

3) Transportation Shutdowns

For example, things like trains might not be able to work.

You know those large railroads that are getting held up? Those could get burnt down, or unstable, which could lead to many injuries and preventions to get somewhere.

4) Houses Burned or Damaged

This is probably one of the most well known issues of wildfire.

Because of this, a bunch of citizens might not be able to live anywhere if their home gets burned down. Some people are lucky and have family nearby they can live with, but others don't, forced to live on the streets.

5) Loss of Tourism

This issue really only effects specific people.

Only people who really have any sort of relationship with touring would feel threatened by these changes.

6) Health Problems from Breathing Smoke

Yes, this is a huge issue.

Inhaling harmful smoke can inflame your lungs and airway, causing them to swell and block oxygen. This can lead to acute respiratory distress syndrome and respiratory failure.

7) Loss of places of employment

Just like number 2, this could leave people stranded with nowhere to go. Some might have to become homeless if they can't pay rent, or buy groceries.

8) Town Buildings Burned or Damaged

Think about it-- How would you feel if your town building got burnt down? It would be a huge deal, and will take months; maybe years to rebuild.

I have no clue if I did this the way you wanted, but- here. xd

Hatshy [7]

Answer:

See attached document for complete answers and also follow the step by step explanation to get given parameters

Explanation:

Given that:

In a tempering process, glass plate, which is initially at a uniform temperature Ti, is cooled by suddenly reducing the temperature of both surfaces to Ts. The plate is 10 mm thick, and the glass has a thermal diffusivity of 6 × 10−7 m2/s. (a) How long will it take for the midplane temperature to achieve 75% of its maximum possible temperature reduction? (b) If (Ti − Ts) = 300°C, what is the maximum temperature gradient in the glass at the time calculated in part (a)? (c) Plot the temperature distribution within the glass plate at t = 10s

As part of a chemistry experiment, Austin ends up with a beaker containing a mixture of two liquids, which he knows have boiling
asambeis [7]

Answer:

Distillation, heat

Explanation:

Here in this question, we simply want to look at the best options that could fit in the gaps.

We have a mixture of liquids having boiling points which is far from each other.

Whenever we have a mixture of liquids with boiling points far away from each other, the best technique to use in separating them is to use distillation. That is why we have that as the best fit for the first missing gap.

Now, to get the liquids to separate from each other, we shall be needing the heating mantle for the application of heat. This ensures that the mixture is vaporized. After vaporization, the condensing tube will help to condense the vapor of each of the liquids once we reach the boiling point of either of the two.

Kindly note that the liquid with the lower temperature will evaporate first and will be first obtained. In fact after reaching a little above the boiling point of the lower boiling liquid, we can be sure that what we have left in the mixture pot is the second other liquid with the higher boiling point.
