Answer:

The water displacement method, can be used to accurately find out the volume of an object of any shape. Basically, it relies on the fact that for all practical purposes, water is incompressible. So when an object enters water held in a container, the water gets displaced to make room for it.

As the chain length of a hydrocarbon is increased the heat of vapourization
White raven [17]

Answer:

Answer is d, strength of London forces increases with molecular size.

Explanation:

Dispersion forces are the forces preesnt between all intermingling atoms, molecules and particles. Dispersion forces are the weakest intermolecular force, but they build up with the addition of more atoms, molecules or particles. Heat of vapourisation or boiling point is dependant on the energy required to break the bonds within the molecule/hydrocarbon in question. The build up of dispersion forces create greater intermolecular forces, which make the boiling of a substance more difficult. Hence increased hydrocarbon chain length, and the related increased eat of vapourisation is due to how the strength of the London/Dispersion forces increases with molecular size

Separating techniques - Chromatography
vodomira [7]

The method that can be used to separate the mixture is chromatography.

<h3>What is chromatography?</h3>

"Chromatography" is obtained form a Greek word which literarily means, color writing. It is a method of separation which is common in separating a mixture of pigments.

To obtain the colors used, two solvents are mixed and the sample ink is dissolved in the solvents then spotted on a thin layer and put into a TLC chamber then the chromatogram is allowed to develop.

The various components of the pigment will appear on the chromatogram and can be identified using spectrophotometry. The Rf values of each component can also be used to identify it.'

What is the oxidation number of the element n in the compound n2o5? 1. 3 2. 6 3. 5 4. 2 5. −6 6. 4 7. −2 8. −3 9. −5 10. −4?
marta [7]
Answer is: oxidation number of nitrogen is +5 (<span>3. 5).
Oxygen has greater electronegativity than nitrogen, so oxygen has negative oxidation number, in this compound -2, so oxidation number of nitrogen is +5:
2 </span>· x + 5 · (-2) = 0.
2x = 10.
x = 10 ÷ 2.
x = 5; oxidation number of nitrogen.
<span>The sum of the oxidation numbers in a neutral compound is zero.</span>
