Bond energy is the energy that is required to form a bond and must be supplied in order to break the bond. In the question, we are told that the energy of the reactants is 860 kJ/mol and the bond energy of the products is 680 kJ/mol.

Heat of reaction = Bond energy of reactants - Bond energy of products

= 860 kJ/mol - 680 kJ/mol = 180 kJ/mol hence the reaction is endothermic.

You would not expect all solutions to execute volume additivity because intermolecular forces between the components come into play. There is no such thing as conservation of volume. 

Vapor pressure affects molar volume because gases are very sensitive by these process conditions. Vapor pressure is very temperature-dependent. Consequently, at a different temperature, your component could expand or compress, thus, affecting the molar volume. Moreover, the pressure affects the molecular collisions in the system.

The properties of a mixture are the same everywhere. The components of a heterogeneous mixture are not evenly distributed. Different regions of this mixture have different   properties.

Particles in a homogeneous mixture do not settle down or separate when left alone. Particles in a heterogeneous mixture eventually separate or settle when left alone.

  • Colloids are a type of heterogeneous mixture that do not naturally settle out quickly, and can be separated with different methods.
  • A suspension is another type of heterogeneous mixtures in which the components of the mixture will quickly settle out or can be filtered or separated.
