3.745 x 10^{-19}J is the minimum energy needed to eject electrons from a metal with a threshold frequency of 5.65 x 10^{14}s^{-1}

<h3>What is threshold frequency?</h3>

The minimum frequency needed to cause electron ejection is referred to as the threshold frequency.

The energy carried by the incident light is E=hf

Where h is the Planck constant and f is the frequency of the light. The threshold frequency is the frequency that corresponds to the minimum energy needed to eject the electrons from the metal, so if we substitute the threshold frequency in the formula, we get the minimum energy the light must have to eject the electrons:

E=hf

h=6.63 x 10^{-34}Js

f=5.65 x 10^{14}s^{-1}

E=6.63 x 10^{-34}Js x 5.65 x 10^{14}s^{-1}

E= 3.745 x 10^{-19}J

Thus, 3.745 x 10^{-19}J is the minimum energy needed to eject electrons from a metal with a threshold frequency of 5.65 x 10^{14}s^{-1}

What is the problem with mental models?
Nataly [62]

Mental models also guide your perception and behavior. They are the thinking tools that you use to understand life, make decisions, and solve problems. Learning a new mental model gives you a new way to see the world—like Richard Feynman learning a new math technique. Mental models are imperfect, but useful.

hope this helped :)

What really is the Ebola virus?
Sloan [31]
The Ebola virus belongs to a family of viruses termed Filoviridae. Filovirus particles form long sometimes branched filaments of varying shapes, as well as shorter filaments , and may measure up to 14,000 nanometers in length with diameter of 80 nanometers. Viral particles contain one molecule of single stranded RNA enveloped in a lipid membrane. New viral particle bud from the surface of their host cell. Although Ebola virus was only discovered in 1976, it is an ancient virus and is thought to have split from other viruses thousands of years ago.

Which of the following correctly describes a compound?
Nutka1998 [239]

A compound is a pure substance formed by the chemical combination of two or more different elements.

A compound may be splitted into simpler substances by chemical reactions, and has different properties to those of the elements that form it.

The composition of a compound is fixed: every piece of a compound has the same kind of atoms, bonded in the same way and proportion.

Some examples of compounds are H₂O, NaCl, H₂O₂, CH₃COOH. As you see, they have a chemical formula which states the kind and number of the atoms that form them.

They are different to mixtures, which are formed by two or more compounds, in a variable proportion, and can be separated by physical media. Some examples of mixtures are the solutions (e.g. NaCl dissolved in H₂O), and some solid mixtures (e.g. a mixture of marbles and sand).
