Considering the Coulomb's Law, the combination of particle A: 12.0×10⁻⁴ C and particle B: 2.5×10⁻⁴ C would yield the same Coulomb force of 12 N.

<h3>Coulomb's Law</h3>

Charged bodies experience a force of attraction or repulsion on approach.

From Coulomb's Law it is possible to predict what the electrostatic force of attraction or repulsion between two particles will be according to their electric charge and the distance between them.

From Coulomb's Law, the electric force with which two point charges at rest attract or repel each other is directly proportional to the product of the magnitude of both charges and inversely proportional to the square of the distance that separates them:

F=k\frac{Qq}{d^{2} }

where:

  • F is the electrical force of attraction or repulsion. It is measured in Newtons (N).
  • Q and q are the values of the two point charges. They are measured in Coulombs (C).
  • d is the value of the distance that separates them. It is measured in meters (m).
  • K is a constant of proportionality called the Coulomb's law constant. It depends on the medium in which the charges are located. Specifically for vacuum k is approximately 9×10⁹ \frac{Nm^{2} }{C^{2} }.

The force is attractive if the charges are of opposite sign and repulsive if they are of the same sign.

<h3 /><h3>This case</h3>

In this case, you know that two particles are 15 meters apart and the resulting Coulomb force is 12 N.

On the other side, you know:

  • Particle A: 8.0×10⁻⁴ C, and Particle B: 3.0×10⁻⁴ C
  • Particle A: 12.0×10⁻⁴ C, and Particle B: 2.5×10⁻⁴ C
  • Particle A: 9.0×10⁻⁴ C, and Particle B: 8.0×10⁻⁴ C
  • Particle A: 9.0×10⁻⁴ C, and Particle B: 3.0×10⁻⁴ C

Replacing in the Coulomb's Law, you get:

  • F=9x10^{9} \frac{Nm^{2} }{C^{2} }\frac{(8x10^{-4}C) (3x10^{-4} C )}{(15 m)^{2} } →  F= 9.6 N
  • F=9x10^{9} \frac{Nm^{2} }{C^{2} }\frac{(12x10^{-4}C) (2.5x10^{-4} C )}{(15 m)^{2} } → F= 12 N
  • F=9x10^{9} \frac{Nm^{2} }{C^{2} }\frac{(9x10^{-4}C) (8x10^{-4} C )}{(15 m)^{2} } → F= 28.8 N
  • F=9x10^{9} \frac{Nm^{2} }{C^{2} }\frac{(9x10^{-4}C) (3x10^{-4} C )}{(15 m)^{2} } → F=10.8 N

Finally, the combination of particle A: 12.0×10⁻⁴ C and particle B: 2.5×10⁻⁴ C would yield the same Coulomb force of 12 N.

A 26 cm object is 18 cm in front of a plane mirror. A ray of light strikes the object and is reflected off the mirror at a 42-de
natita [175]
The angle of reflection is the angle between the reflected ray and the normal.
In this case the angle of reflection is 42 degrees

Characteristics of images formed in a plane mirror include
The image is upright
The image is virtual
the image is the same size as the object
The image is at the same distance from the mirror as the object
The image is formed behind the mirror

A plane mirror forms an image which is the same size as the object
Therefore since the object is 26 cm long , the image would still be 26 cm.

Two large parallel conducting plates carrying opposite charges of equal magnitude are separated by 2.20 cm. Part A If the surfac
alukav5142 [94]

Answer:

5308.34 N/C

Explanation:

Given:

Surface density of each plate (σ) = 47.0 nC/m² = 47\times 10^{-9}\ C/m^2

Separation between the plates (d) = 2.20 cm

We know, from Gauss law for a thin sheet of plate that, the electric field at a point near the sheet of surface density 'σ' is given as:

E=\dfrac{\sigma}{2\epsilon_0}

Now, as the plates are oppositely charged, so the electric field in the region between the plates will be in same direction and thus their magnitudes gets added up. Therefore,

E_{between}=E+E=2E=\frac{2\sigma}{2\epsilon_0}=\frac{\sigma}{\epsilon_0}

Now, plug in  47\times 10^{-9}\ C/m^2 for 'σ' and 8.85\times 10^{-12}\ F/m for \epsilon_0 and solve for the electric field. This gives,

E_{between}=\frac{47\times 10^{-9}\ C/m^2}{8.854\times 10^{-12}\ F/m}\\\\E_{between}= 5308.34\ N/C

Therefore, the electric field between the plates has a magnitude of 5308.34 N/C

You have an electrically neutral toy that you divide into two pieces. You notice that at least one of those pieces has an electr
musickatia [10]

Answer:

Attract

Explanation:

According to the properties of charge, the bodies having unlike charges attract each other and the bodies having like charges repel each other.

As the toy is initially electrically neutral, so as it is divided into two pieces, then according to the conservation of charge, the one piece having positive charge and the other piece having negative charge. As they are unlike charges so they attract each other.
