Answer:

13.28m/s

Explanation:

Given

Distance covered by the ball S = 9m

initial velocity u = 0m/s

Required

velocity at the bottom of the hill (final velocity)

Using the equation of motion

v² = u²+2gS

v² = 0²+2(9.8)(9)

v² = 18(9.8)

v² = 176.4

v = √176.4

v = 13.28m/s

Hence the velocity at the bottom of the hill is 13.28m/s

Stella [2.4K]

Answer:

A massive object (like a galaxy cluster) bends the light from an object (like a quasar) that lies behind it.

Explanation:

A massive object, like a galaxy cluster, is able to deform the space-time shape as a consequence of its own gravity, so the light that it is coming from a source that is behind it in the line of sight will be bend or distorts in a way that will be magnified, making small arcs around the cluster with the image of the background object.

This technique is useful for astronomers since they make research of faraway objects (at hight redshift) that otherwise will difficult to detect with a telescope.

Subtracting a negative number follows the same process as a positive number
Sav [38]
This would be true!

When you subtract a positive number, it goes to the left of the number line. When you subtract a negative number, it goes to the left of the number line.

The thing that confuses most people is that the first number (when negative) continues to increase as a negative. It follows the same process, just different signs.

I hope this helps!
