Lucy is working with a series whose first term is 12 and that is generated by the equation t(n) = −9 + 21n. The sum of her serie

s is 3429. How many terms are in her series? *hint: the last term can be written as -9 + 21n if we say there are n terms. You will need to solve a quadratic equation to solve for n.

There are 18 terms are in her series

What is Arithmetic progression series?

Arithmetic Progression (AP) is a sequence of numbers in order in which the difference of any two consecutive numbers is a constant value.

Given that: t(n) = −9 + 21n=l

a= 12, Sum = 3429

As, Sum of series =3429

     n/2 (a+l) =3429

     n/2 (12 +21n-9)= 3429

     n/2 (3+21n)=3429

     21n² + 3n= 6858

     21n² + 3n- 6858=0

    7n² + n- 2286=0

For solving for n, get

    n= 18 or n= -127/7

Thus, there 18 terms in the series.

Let f(x) = x + 8 and g(x) = x2 − 6x − 7. Find f(g(2)). (1 point)

−7
−3
10
33
qwelly [4]
Since the expressions for f(x) and g(x) are already given, f(g(2)) means to substitute the value of 2 to the expression of g(x), then further substituting the obtained value of g(2) into the expression of f(x). This is shown below:

f(x) = x + 8
g(x) = x^2 - 6x - 7

f(g(x) = x^2 - 6x - 7 + 8
f(g(2)) = 2^2 - 6(2) + 1
f(g(2)) = 4 - 12 + 1
f(g(2)) = -7

Therefore, the correct answer is -7.

4x + y =3
x + y - z = 9
2x + 2y + z = 0
uranmaximum [27]

Answer:

[0, 3, -6]

Step-by-step explanation:

{4x + y = 3

{x + y - z = 9 ←

{2x + 2y + z = 0 ←

{4x + y = 3

{3x + 3y = 9 >> Combined equation

−¾[4x + y = 3]

{−3x - ¾y = −2¼ >> New Equation

{3x + 3y = 9

_________

2¼y = 6¾

___ ___

2¼ 2¼

y = 3 [Plug this back into all three equations to get the z-value of −6, and the x-value of 0]; 0 = x; -6 = z
