Step-by-step explanation:

1. first multiply -1 times all elements of matrix A

2. then multiply 1/3 by all elements of matrix B

3. then add each corresponding entries to get the result.

from step 1. matrix A will be

-4 -2. -1. -3

-2. 0. 1. -3

step 2. matrix B will be

3. -1. -2. -4

3. -10. 10. -1

add each corresponding elements to get

-1. -3. -3. -7

1. -10 11. -4

In selecting a sulfur concrete for roadway construction in regions that experience heavy frost, it is important that the chosen
Lesechka [4]

Step-by-step explanation:

Given - In selecting a sulfur concrete for roadway construction in regions that experience heavy frost, it is important that the chosen concrete has a low value of thermal conductivity in order to minimize subsequent damage due to changing temperatures. Suppose two types of concrete, a graded aggregate and a no-fines aggregate, are being considered for a certain road. The table below summarizes data on thermal conductivity from an experiment carried out to compare the two types of concrete.

Type            ni                xi                  si

Graded       42           0.486            0.187

No-fines      42           0.359           0.158

To find - a. Formulate the above in terms of a hypothesis testing problem.

b. Give the test statistic and its reference distribution (under the null hypothesis).

c. Report the p-value of the test statistic and use it to assess the evidence that this sample provides on the scientific question of difference in mean conductivity of the two materials at the 5% level of significance.

Proof -

a.)

Hypothesis testing problem :

H0 : There is significant difference between mean conductivity for the graded concrete and mean conductivity for the no fines concrete.

H1 : There is no significant difference between mean conductivity for the graded concrete and mean conductivity for the no fines concrete.

b)

Test statistic :

Z = \frac{x_{1} - x_{2} }{\sqrt{\frac{s_{1} ^{2} }{n_{1}}  + \frac{s_{2}^{2} }{n_{2}} } }

Z = \frac{0.486 - 0.359 }{\sqrt{\frac{0.03496 }{42}  + \frac{0.02496 }{42} } }

Z = \frac{0.127 }{\sqrt{0.001468}}

Z = \frac{0.127 }{0.0377}

⇒Z(cal) = 3.3687

Z(tab) = 1.96

As Z (cal) > Z(tab)

So, we reject H0 at 5% Level of significance

p-value = 0.99962

Hence

There is significant difference in mean conductivity at the two materials.

Well first count the shoe rental which is 4 dollars so she has 16 dollars left. We divide 16 and 5.50 and get 2.9090 meaning that she can play 2 games. Because u can’t pay for half the game so it would be 2 games.

7.60. When Paul crossed the finish line of a 60-meter race, he was ahead of Robert by 10 meters and ahead of Sam by 20 meters. S
Lelechka [254]

Answer:

The number of meters Robert will beat Sam is 12 meters.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:

When Paul crossed the finish line of a 60-meter race, he was ahead of Robert by 10 meters and ahead of Sam by 20 meters. Suppose Robert and Sam continue to race to the finish line without changing their rates of speed.

Find:

the number of meters by which Robert will beat Sam

Step 1 of 1

When Paul finishes, Robert has run 60-10=50 meters and Sam has run 60-20=40 meters.

Therefore, when Robert and Sam run for the same amount of time, Sam covers $\frac{40}{50}=\frac{4}{5}$ of the distance that Robert covers. So, while Robert runs the final 10 meters of the race, Sam runs $\frac{4}{5} \cdot 10=8$ meters.

This means Robert's lead over Sam increases by 2 more meters, and he beats Sam by 10+2=12 meters.

What is the measure of angle BAC ?
Eva8 [605]
An inscribed angle (BAC) is one half the angle of a central angle (BOC) that intercepts the same arc.  Therefore, BAC = 34 degrees.
