The mechanical energy is lost due to friction between the two peak is 78,458.688 J

<h3>What is mechanical energy?</h3>

The mechanical energy is the sum of kinetic energy and the potential energy of an object at any instant of time.

M.E = KE +PE

Given is a roller coaster ride the total mass of a cart - with two passengers included - is 319 kg. Peak K is at 43.6 m above the ground and peak L is at 24.4 m. At location K the speed of the cart is 16.4 m/s, and at location L it is 12.4 m/s.

Total energy at peak K,

TE₁ = 1/2 mv₁² +mgh₁

Substitute the values, we get

TE₁ =  1/2 x319 x 16.4² +319 x 9.81 x 43.6

TE₁ = 179,340. 524 J

Total energy at peak L,

TE₂ = 1/2 mv₂² +mgh₂

Substitute the values, we get

TE₂ =  1/2 x319 x 12.4² +319 x 9.81 x 24.4

TE₂ = 100,881. 836 J

The mechanical energy lost is

M.E =  TE₁ -TE₂

M.E =  179,340. 524 J -  100,881. 836 J

M.E = 78,458.688 J

Thus, the mechanical energy is lost due to friction between the two peak i

A ski tow operates on a slope of angle 15.6 ∘ of length 340 m . The rope moves at a speed of 12.7 km/h and provides power for 53
GREYUIT [131]

Answer:

P = 34034.2 Watt

Explanation:

As we know that the slope angle is given as

\theta = 15.6^0

now the weight of the rider along the slope is given as

W = mgsin\theta

W = 69(9.81)sin15.6

W = 182 N

now total weight of all 53 riders along the slope is given as

F = 53 W

F = 9647.5 N

now the speed of the rope is given as

v = 12.7 km/h = 3.53 m/s

now the power required is given as

P = F.v

P = 9647.5(3.53)

P = 34034.2 Watt

Find the moment of inertia of a hoop (a thin-walled, hollow ring) with mass MMM and radius RRR about an axis perpendicular to th
slega [8]

Answer:

I = sum m *r^2    where m represents the (small) individual masses and r is the distance of that mass from center of rotation

Note:  sum m = M

For the hoop given all masses are at a distance RRR from the center of rotation

I = MMM * RRR^2

A pendulum of length =1.0 m is pulled to the side and released on the moon. It's period is measured to be 4.82 seconds. What is
Shkiper50 [21]

Answer:

Gravity on the moon, g = 1.69 m/s²

Explanation:

It is given that,

Length of pendulum, l = 1 m

Time period, T = 4.82 seconds

We have to find the gravity of the moon. The time period of the pendulum is given by :

T=2\pi\sqrt{\dfrac{l}{g}}

g = acceleration due to gravity on moon

g=\dfrac{4\pi^2l}{T^2}

g=\dfrac{4\pi^2\times 1\ m}{(4.82\ s)^2}

g = 1.69 m/s²

Hence, the gravity on the moon is 1.69 m/s².
