The Mercury's mass for the given acceleration due to gravity is 0.3152 x 10²⁴ kg.

The ratio of the calculated and accepted value of the Mercury's mass is 0.95.

What is mass?

Mass is the amount of matter present in the object.

The mass of the object is always constant, anywhere it is on the Earth or Moon or any other planet.

Given is the acceleration due to gravity of Mercury planet at North pole is g = 3.698 m/s² and the radius of Mercury planet is 2440 km.

The acceleration due to gravity is related with mass as

g = GM/R²

Substitute the values, we have

3.698 = 6.67 x 10⁻¹¹ x M/(2440 x1000)³

M = 2.2016 x 10¹³ /  6.67 x 10⁻¹¹

M = 0.3152 x 10²⁴ kg

Thus, the mercury's mass is  0.3152 x 10²⁴ kg.

(b) Accepted value of Mercury's mass is 3.301 x 10²³ kg

Ratio of the value of mass calculated and accepted is

Mcalc/M accep =  0.3152 x 10²⁴ kg / 3.301 x 10²³ kg

                          = 0.95

Thus, the ratio is 0.95

1. What are advantages and disadvantages of using a solar cooker compared to other meanings of cookings?
Brums [2.3K]

Answer:

The biggest advantage of Solar cookers is their eco-friendliness. By exploitation one you’ll decrease your dependence on gas or electricity, cut back your carbon footprint, and save on fuel and therefore the value of fuel on running home appliances. change of state with star cookers clearly needs daylight, that makes it troublesome to use throughout winter months and on rainy days. change of state conjointly takes a considerably longer time compared to traditional strategies. Users should schedule their change of state time and maximize the employment of daylight. As a result, preparation should begin early within the morning in order that the food may be placed in the cooking utensil by noontide.

What are the similarities and differences between chemical and physical properties?
Semmy [17]

Answer:

Physical properties are different from chemical properties of a substance. The main difference between physical and chemical properties is that physical properties can be observed without changing the chemical composition of a substance whereas chemical properties can be observed by changing the chemical composition of a substance.

A vertical spring stretches 3.4 cm when a 12-g object is hung from it. The object is replaced with a block of mass 26 g that osc
Mariulka [41]

Answer:

Period of motion is approximately 0.5447 seconds

Explanation:

We start by calculating the constant "k" of the spring which can be derived from the fact that an object of mass 12 g produced a stretch of 3.4 cm: (we write everything in SI units)

F = k * x

0.012 kg * 9.8  m/s^2 = k 0.034 m

k = 0.012 kg * 9.8  m/s^2 / (0.034 m)

k = 3.46 N/m

now we use the formula for the period (T) of a spring of constant k with a hanging mass 'm':

T=2\pi\,\sqrt{\frac{m}{k} }

which in our case becomes:

T=2\pi\,\sqrt{\frac{0.026}{3.46} } \approx 0.5447\,\,sec
