One of the industrial method for the production of hydrogen is the steam reforming process while oxygen is air separation.

Industrial method of hydrogen preparation

One of the industrial method for the production of hydrogen is the steam reforming process also known catalytic steam–hydrocarbon process.

In catalytic steam–hydrocarbon process, gaseous or vaporized hydrocarbons are treated with steam at high pressure over a nickel catalyst at 650°–950° C to produce carbon oxides and hydrogen.

Industrial method of oxygen preparation

One of the industrial method of oxygen production is the separation of air using either a cryogenic distillation process or a vacuum swing adsorption process.

Nuclear power plants have the greatest environmental impact during __________. A) operation B) mining C) waste disposal D) const
lyudmila [28]
The correct option is C.
The issue of disposal of waste of nuclear power plants has been a controversial issue for long because of the hazardous effects which these wastes have on human health and the environment. Most of the waste are usually long lived radioactive wastes which can remain active for a very long time and which have detrimental effect on both the environment and the human health.

What mass of Na2SO4 is needed to make 2.5L of 2.0M solution? (Na=23g; S=32g; O=16g)
zaharov [31]
The molar mass of Na₂SO₄ -
2 x Na - 2 x23 = 46
1 x S - 1 x 32 = 32
4 x O - 4 x 16 = 64
total = 46 + 32 + 64 = 142 g/mol
the molarity of solution - 2.0 M
in 1 L of solution , 2.0 moles
Therefore in 2.5 L - 2 mol/L x 2.5 L = 5 mol
then the mass of Na₂SO₄ required = 142 g/mol x 5 mol = 710 g

Butanol is composed of carbon, hydrogen, and oxygen. If 1.0 mol of butanol contains 6.0 x 1024 atoms of hydrogen, what is the su
yanalaym [24]

Answer:

Option B. 10

Explanation:

If 1 mol of butanol contains 6×10²⁴ atoms of H, let's calculate the amount of H.

(number of atoms / NA)

6.02 x 10²³ atoms ___ 1 mol

6×10²⁴ atoms will occupy (6×10²⁴ / NA) = 9.96 moles

H, has 10 moles in the butano formula.

Use the exponential term in the Arrhenius equation to explain how temperature affects reaction rate.
WINSTONCH [101]

The Arrhenius equation describes the relation between the rate of reaction and temperature for many physical and chemical reactions

It is an expression that provides a relationship between the rate constant (of a chemical reaction), the absolute temperature.

The Arrhenius equation,

k = zpe^{\frac{- Ea}{RT} }, where

k is the rate constant,

z is the collision factor,

p is the steric factor,

Ea is the activation energy,

R = 8.3245 \frac{J}{mol. K} is the ideal gas constant, and,

T is the temperature.

The activation energy by definition, is the minimum energy (or threshold energy) required for two particles of reactants upon collision to form products.

The Arrhenius equation could also be written as:

⇒ k = Ae\frac{-Ea}{RT}, where

⇒ A = zp, the Arrhenius factor.

Taking the neutral logarithm of both parties, we get:

⇒ In k = \frac{-Ea}{RT}\frac{(1)}{(T)} + In A,

Assuming that, A is independent of temperature, when T is increased, the equilibrium constant k will also increase and therefore, the rate of the reaction will also increase.
