Lucite contains 59.9 g C, 8.06 g H,

Chemistry

You start by finding the mol of each

59.9g C x (mol C / 12.01 g C) = 4.98 mol C
8.06g H x (mol H / 1.00 g H) = 8.06 mol H
32.0 g O x (mol O / 16.0 g O) = 2 mol O

So when you set it up you have
C4.98 H8 O2

You divide each by the smallest mol. The smallest mol is 2

C2 H4 O2.5

However you can’t have half a mol in the empirical formula. If the value ends in 0.5, you multiply everything by 2

You’re left with

C2H8O5

The EMPIRICAL formula for lucite is C2H8O5

Note empirical is not the same as chemical formula.

What is the molarity of 2.3 mol of Kl dissolved in 0.5 L of water
Nastasia [14]

Answer:

4.6\,\,moL\,\,L^{-1}

Explanation:

Molarity refers to a measure of concentration.

Molarity = moles of solute/Litres of solution

Molarity refers to number of moles of solute present in this solution.

In order to find a solution's molarity, use value for the number of moles of solute  and the total volume of the solution expressed in liters

As molarity of 2.3 mol of Kl is dissolved in 0.5 L of water,

Molarity = \frac{2.3}{0.5} =4.6\,\,moL\,\,L^{-1}

Typically ____
MArishka [77]

Answer:

Protons

Explanation:

Typically protons cannot be removed from the atom. Removing protons from an atom will completely change the atom as it will become another element entirely.

In an atom, protons are held by strong nuclear forces.

  • Within an atom, protons are the positively charged particles.
  • Together with the neutrons, they are found in the nucleus of an atom.
  • The number of protons within an atom is the atomic number of the atoms and it determines the nature and type of atom it is.
  • Protons cannot be removed from an atom due to the strong binding force holding them together in place.

How is an oxidation half-reaction written using the reduction potential chart? How is the oxidation potential voltage determined
insens350 [35]
Oxidation  half  reaction  is  written   as    follows when  using  using  reduction potential  chart
example  when  using  copper  it is  written  as  follows
CU2+   +2e-  --> c(s)  +0.34v
 oxidasation  is the  loos  of  electron  hence copper oxidation  potential  is  as  follows
cu (s)  -->  CU2+   +2e    -0.34v
