The hindbrain consists of the medulla, the pons, and the cerebellum.

The hindbrain

The hindbrain is the portion of the brain that is otherwise known as the rhombencephalon. It is the part of the brain that is located towards the lower back.

The hindbrain consists of 3 main parts:

 1. The medulla oblongata
 2. The pons
 3. The cerebellum

Each component has specific functions they perform. The medulla oblongata is located at the extreme end where the brain connects with the spinal cord. It controls activities such as heartbeat, blood pressure, and respiration.

The pons of the hindbrain work hand in hand with the medullar oblongata for effective breathing. In addition, it is the part of the brain that controls the circadian rhythm of the body.

The cerebellum helps the body to maintain postural balance and adjustments when necessary.

Which compounds combine with water vapor to form acid precipitation?
Leno4ka [110]

Answer:

Rain, sleet or snow

Explanation:

Acid rain results when sulfur dioxide (SO2) and nitrogen oxides (NOX) are emitted into the atmosphere and transported by wind and air currents. The SO2 and NOX react with water, oxygen and other chemicals to form sulfuric and nitric acids. These then mix with water and other materials before falling to the ground.

How many significant figures are in the measurement of 0.020 km?
natali 33 [55]

Answer: Option b) 2

Explanation:

 • Significant figures are the digits which play a role in defining a measurement that is they carry some meaning.
 • There are three essential rules to find out the significant figures in a given number:
 • Rule 1: Non-zero digits such are always significant.
 • Rule 2: The zeroes after a non-zero number in decimal are also significant. An example is if the number is 0.0500 then the zeroes after 5 are considered significant, however, the zeroes before 5 are not significant.
 • Rule 3: The zeroes placed between any two significant digits are also considered as significant e.g in 202 the zero is significant.
 • Therefore, in the number 0.020 km, there are two significant digits, one is 2 and the other is the last zero placed after 2.
