A large bakery buys flour in 20-pound bags. The bakery uses an average of 1050 bags a year. Preparing an order and receiving a s

hipment of flour involves a cost of $15 per order. Annual Carrying costs are $ 55 per bag. a) Determine the economic order quantity? b) What is the average number of bags on-hand? c) How many orders per year will there be? d) Compute the total cost of ordering and carrying flour? e) If holding costs were to increase by $5 per year, how much would the minimum total annual cost?

Given the following:

  • Demand = 1050
  • Ordering cost = 15
  • Holding cost = 55

The economic order quantity is 24.

<h3>What is the economic order Quantity?</h3>

Eoq = √2 * demand * ordering cost / holding cost)

= √(2 * 1050 * 15 / 55)

EOQ = 24

<h3>What is the average number of bags on-hand?</h3>

The  Average inventory = EOQ / 2

= 24 / 2

= 12

<h3>How many orders per year will there be?</h3>

Expected number of orders = demand / EOQ

= 1050 / 24

= 44

<h3>What is the total cost of ordering and carrying flour?</h3>

Annual holding cost (AHC) = (EOQ / 2) * Holding cost

= (24 / 2) * 55

= 660

Annual ordering cost (AOC) = (demand / EOQ) * ordering cost

= (1050 / 24) * 15

= 656

Thus,

Total cost of managing = AHC + AOC

= 660 + 656

TCM = 1,316

<h3>If holding costs were to increase by $5 per year, how much would the minimum total annual cost?</h3>

5. For holding cost of 60

EOQ= √(2 * demand * ordering cost / holding cost)

= √(2 * 1050 * 15 / 60)

= 23

Annual holding cost = (EOQ / 2) * holding cost

this gives us

= (23 / 2) * 60

= 690

Annual ordering cost = (demand / EOQ) * ordering cost

= (1050 / 23) * 15

= 685

Total cost of managing = AHC+ AOC

= 690 + 685

= 1375

Change in total annual cost = new - old

= 1375 - 1316

= 59

Prove : the graphs of the function f(x)=x4<br> and g(x)=x3-x2 have aunique intersection<br> point.
vagabundo [1.1K]

Answer:

The unique intersection point for the given functions which is at x = 0.

The intersection point is (0,0)

Step-by-step explanation:

We are given the following information in the question.

f(x) = x^4\\g(x) = x^3-x^2

We have to find the intersection point.

Equating the two equations we get,

x^4 = x^3 - x^2\\x^4 - x^3 + x^2 = 0\\x^2(x^2-x +1) = 0\\x^2 =0, x^2-x +1 = 0\\x = 0, x = 0, x^2-x +1=0

Since the quadratic equation gives complex root, thus there is a unique intersection point for the given functions which is x = 0.

The attached image shows the graph for the given function.

The red line represent f(x) and blue line represent g(x).

The intersection point is (0,0)

PLEASE HELP URGENT :))))
harkovskaia [24]

Answer:

  P = (3, 3 2/7)

Step-by-step explanation:

The desired point P is the weighted average of the end point values. The weights are the numbers in the ratio of segment lengths. The smallest weight is used for the end point closest to the largest division.

  P = (5N +2M)/(5+2) = (5(7, 7) +2(-7, -6))/7 = (35-14, 35-12)/7

.   P = (21, 23)/7

  P = (3, 3 2/7)

_____

The x-distance from M to N is 7-(-7) = 14 units. The x-distance from P to M must be 5/(5+2) = 5/7 of that, so is (5/7)14 = 10 units. So, the x-coordinate of P is ...

  Mx +10 = Px

  -7 +10 = 3 . . . . x-coordinate of P

The corresponding y-coordinate can be found from a graph or by a similar calculation.

  My +5/7(Ny -My) = Py

  Py = -6 +(5/7)(7-(-6)) = -6 +65/7 = -6 +9 2/7 = 3 2/7 . . . . y-coordinate of P

Reese is using a coin to predict the gender of the puppies born to her dog. According to Reese's model, which is the probability
anastassius [24]

Answer:

\frac{1}{32}

Step-by-step explanation:

According to Reese's model, let the head of the coin represent male, and the tail represents female. The outcome can either be a male or a female.

Total outcome = 2

pr(male) = \frac{1}{2}

pr(female) = \frac{1}{2}

Therefore the probability of male equals the probability of females i.e \frac{1}{2}.

Therefore,

pr(a litter of 5 puppies will be males) = \frac{1}{2} x \frac{1}{2} x \frac{1}{2} x \frac{1}{2} x \frac{1}{2}

                                                           = \frac{1}{32}

According to Reese's model, the probability that a litter of 5 puppies will be males is \frac{1}{32}.
