England topped what torturous temp for the first time of 40°C

For the first time ever, Britain experienced temperatures on Tuesday of over 40 degrees Celsius, or 104 degrees Fahrenheit, as a fierce heat wave moved northwest, causing raging wildfires, fatalities, and forced home evacuations throughout a Europe that was terrifyingly unprepared to deal with the new reality of extreme weather.

What is heat wave ?

A heat wave is a period of very hot weather that may also be accompanied by significant humidity, especially in nations with maritime climates. While there are several definitions, a heat wave is typically assessed in relation to the local climate and the average temperatures for the time of year.

 • Heat waves begin when high pressure in the atmosphere moves in and pushes warm air toward the ground. That air warms up further as it is compressed, and we begin to feel a lot hotter.

Answer

Open in answr app

The rule used here is that the algebraic sum of the oxidation numbers of all the atoms a molecule is zero.

Al2O32× ( oxidation number of Al)+3× ( Oxidation number of O ) = 0

2× ( Oxidation number of Al) +3(−2)=0

2× ( oxidation number of Al) +6

∴ Oxidation number of Al =+3

hi:) anyone able to explain no.2 of what happens to particles of a solid that is heated until it melts? I don’t understand it. T
Viefleur [7K]
In a solid the particles are all really close together and stuck like that. As the solid melts and becomes a liquid the particles spread out. A solid won’t easily change its shape because the particles are bound together but in a liquid the shape is more fluid, take water when you pour it into a container it will change to fit the shape of a container this is because the particles aren’t as close and can move around. The particles of a solid change when it melts because it is changing states to a liquid.
