Aluminium has a work function of 4. 08 eV. The cutoff wavelength and cutoff frequency for the photoelectric effect is 303.9nm and 911.7× 10¹⁷ s⁻¹ respectively.

Work Function is the minimum energy required to eject an electron from a photoelectric material.

Cutoff Wavelength is the maximum wavelength below which electron will be ejected

Cutoff Frequency is the minimum frequency required to eject electron.

Let the work function of Aluminium be Φ

Given,  work function Φ = 4.08eV

We know that hc/λ =  Φ

where, h is Planck constant

c is speed of light

λ is wavelength of light used

Hence, on subsitution

1240 / λ = 4.08 eV          (hc = 1240)

⇒ λ = 303.9 nm

Hence, cutoff wavelength used is 303.9 nm

We know that ν = c/λ

ν = 3 × 10⁸ / 303.9

⇒ ν = 911.7 × 10¹⁷ s⁻¹

Hence, cutoff frequency used is 911.7 × 10¹⁷ s⁻¹

g A 5.60-kilogram hoop starts from rest at a height 1.80 m above the base of an inclined plane and rolls down under the influenc
swat32

Answer:

4.24m/s

Explanation:

Potential energy at the top= kinetic energy at the button

But kinetic energy= sum of linear and rotational kinetic energy of the hoop

PE= mgh

KE= 1/2 mv^2

RE= 1/2 I ω^2

Where

m= mass of the hoop

v= linear velocity

g= acceleration due to gravity

h= height

I= moment of inertia

ω= angular velocity of the hoop.

But

I = m r^2 for hoop and ω = v/r

giving

m g h = 1/2 m v^2 + 1/2 (m r^2) (v^2/r^2) = 1/2 m v^2 + 1/2 m v^2 = m v^2

and m's cancel

g h = v^2

Hence

v= √gh

v= √10×1.8

v= 4.24m/s

A cart of mass 6.0 kg moves with a speed of 3.0 m/s towards a second stationary cart with a mass of 3.0 kg. The carts move on a
katen-ka-za [31]

Answer:b

Explanation:

Given

mass of first cart m_1=6 kg

mass of second cart m_2=3 kg

velocity of first cart v_1=3 m/s

conserving momentum

m_1v_1+m_2v_2=(m_1+m_2)v

6\times 3+3\times 0=(9)\cdot v

v=2 m/s

Initial kinetic Energy K.E._1=\frac{1}{2}m_1v_1^2+\frac{1}{2}m_2v_2^2

K.E._1=\frac{1}{2}\cdot 6\cdot 3^2+0

K.E._1=27 J

Final Kinetic Energy

K.E._2=\frac{1}{2}(m_1+m_2)v^2

K.E._2=\frac{1}{2}(6+3)\cdot 2^2=18 J

Ratio of initial Kinetic Energy to the Final Kinetic Energy

=\frac{27}{18}=1.5

Share your thoughts about this statement by John Wesley<br> "Electricty is the soul of universe"
ikadub [295]

Answer:

<em>I think this statement is true at least in modern day times. The world runs on nothing but technology. People use more technology instead of old school textbooks and papers. Imagine living in a world without technology… that means no cars, no trains, no devices, no machines like your stove or printer, no lights and lots more. John Wesley is 100 percent correct with this statement. Electricity is indeed the powerhouse of the universe. </em>
