By using the rules that the value inside square root can’t be negative and the denominator value can’t be zero, the domain for the given function is a) x<-1 and x>1  b) p≤1/2  c) s>-1.

I found the complete question on Chegg, here is the full question:

Write the restrictions that should be imposed on the variable for each of the following function. Then find, explicitly, the domain for each function and write it in the interval notation a) f(x)=(x-2)/(x-1)  b) g(p)=√(1-2p)  c) m(s)= (s^2+4s+4)/√(s+1)

Ans. We know that a number is not divisible by zero and number inside a square root can not be negative. In both the cases the outcome will be imaginary.

a) For this case the denominator x-1 can not be zero. So, x ≠1 and the domain is x<-1 and x>1.

b) For this case the value inside square root can’t be negative. So, p can’t be greater than 1/2 the domain is p≤1/2.

c) For this case also the value inside square root can’t be negative and the denominator value can’t be zero. So, s can’t equal or less than -1 and domain is s>-1.

lidiya [134]
This question basically asks for the LCM of 3 and 5, which is 3 x 5 =15
This is the answer: 15
Check : The first rectangle had 1/3 shaded; ( one in every three parts)
So for 15 parts  altogether, 5 would be shaded ( 1/3 = 5/15)
The second rectangle had 2/5 shaded ( two for every five parts)
So for 15 parts altogether, 6 would be shaded (2/5 = 6/15)

Find the values of the six trigonometric functions of an angle in standard position if the point with coordinates (13, 84) lies
erma4kov [3.2K]

Answer:

If P = (x,y) then formulas for each trigonometric functions are:

sin x = y/r

cos x = x/r

tan x = y/x

cot x = x/y

sec x = r/x

cosec x = r/y

where r = √(x²+y²).

First find r:

r = √(13²+84²)=√(169+7056)=√7225=85.

Then just substitute:

sin x = 84/85

cos x = 13/85

tan x = 84/13

cot x = 13/84

sec x = 85/13

cosec x = 85/84

Ronch [10]
<span>Given that Tamara's annual salary is $48,000 means that his monthly salary is $48,000 / 12 = $4,000. For Tamara to make $6,000 this month, she needs to make an additional $2,000 from commissions in addition to her salary. Given that she earns 4% commision on all sales, let the sale she needs to make to get $2,000 be S, then 4 / 100 x S = 2000 this gives 0.04S = 2000 giving that S = 2000 / 0.04 = 50,000. Therefore, Tamara needs to make a sales of $50,000 to be able to earn $6,000 this month.</span>
