The oldest stars in the Galaxy (Population II stars, globular clusters) form a spherical halo around the Galaxy which leads astronomers to conclude that the protogalactic cloud (the cloud from which our galaxy formed) was roughly spherical.

Protogalactic cloud can be defined as, a protogalaxy, which could also be called a "primeval galaxy", is a cloud of gas which is forming into a galaxy.

A protogalactic cloud with very little angular momentum is more likely to form an elliptical galaxy (spherical) than a spiral galaxy.

The higher gas density forms stars more efficiently, so all the gas is converted into stars before a disk can form. This is why a dense cloud can more likely to produce an spherical galaxy.

maria [59]

A force is the push or pull acting on an object as a result of its interaction with another object. Here the net force acting on the box is 297 N

From the question

Given that,

Mass of the box ,m = 102 kg

Acceleration of the box ,a = 2.5 m/s²

Frictional force acting between the box and the floor ,f = 42 N

Here we have to find the net force acting on the body, F = ?

By Newton's second law of motion,

∑F = ma,

where, F is the net force

m is the mass of the body

a is the acceleration of the moving body

If the body is considered moving in the x-direction then,

F-f = ma

F - 42 = 102 x 2.5

          = 255

F = 255 + 42 = 297 N

two tugboats pull a disabled supertanker. each tug exerts a constant force of 2.20×106 n , one at an angle 19.0 ∘ west of north,
asambeis [7]

The amount of work the two tugboats completed on the supertanker W = 3.12 × 10^9 joules .

Work is a physics term used to describe the energy transfer that takes place when an object is moved over a distance by an external force, at least some . The component of the force acting along the path multiplied by the length of the path can be used to calculate work if the force is constant. Mathematically, this idea is expressed as W = fd, where W is the work and f is the force multiplied by d, the distance. Work is completed when the force is applied at an angle of with respect to the displacement. Performing work on a body involves moving it in its entirety from one location to another as well as other methods. However, the work is thought to be negative if the applied force is in opposition to the item's motion, indicating that energy is being pulled away from the object
