The statement a) it orbits around the nucleus of an atom. does not describe a proton.

  • Protons is known as nucleon and Is found in the nucleus. It doesn't revolve around nucleus of atom.In circular orbits, electrons move around the nucleus.
  • In his well-known gold foil experiment from 1911, Ernest Rutherford made the discovery of the atom's nucleus.
  • He came to the conclusion that the majority of an atom's volume was empty and that all of the positively charged particles in it were concentrated in a single core.
  • The mass of a proton is around 1835 times that of an electron.
  • The atomic number is the quantity of protons in an element's nucleus.
  • The mass of a proton is 1.6726219 × 10^-27 kilograms.

Proton is embedded inside the nucleus of atom along with neutron and electron revolve around the nucleus in fixed orbit.

How many grams of fluorine are contained in 8 molecules of boron trifluoride?
Lelu [443]

Answer:

             7.57 × 10⁻²² g of F

Solution:

Data Given:

                 Number of Molecules  =  8

                 M.Mass of BF₃ =  67.82 g.mol⁻¹

                 Mass of Fluorine atoms = ?

Step 1: Calculate Moles of BF₃

           Moles  =  Number of Molecules ÷ 6.022 × 10²³ Molecules.mol⁻¹

Putting value,

            Moles  =   8 Molecules ÷ 6.022 × 10²³ Molecules.mol⁻¹

            Moles  =  1.33 × 10⁻²³ mol

Step 2: Calculate Mass of BF₃:

                   Moles  =  Mass ÷ M.Mass

Solving for Mass,

                   Mass  =  Moles × M.Mass

Putting values,

                   Mass  =  1.33 × 10⁻²³ mol × 67.82 g.mol⁻¹

                   Mass  =  9.0 × 10⁻²² g

Step 3: Calculate Mass of Fluorine Atoms:

As,

                         67.82 g BF₃ contains  =  57 g of F

So,

                    9.0 × 10⁻²² g will contain  =  X g of F

Solving for X,

                       X =  (9.0 × 10⁻²² g × 57 g) ÷ 67.82 g

                        X  =  7.57 × 10⁻²² g of F

Which of the following best represents potential energy being converted to kinetic energy? (2 points) The chemical energy in a b
Ilia_Sergeevich [38]

Answer: A woman kicks a soccer ball and scores a goal.

Explanation:

Potential energy: it is the energy possessed by the body due to its position.

Kinetic energy: it is the energy possessed by the the body due to its motion.

When a woman kick's a soccer ball she transferred her potential energy to soccer ball.Due to this action soccer ball comes into motion which means potential energy imparted to the ball starts getting converted into kinetic energy.
