Chemistry

The n and l values and the number of orbitals for sublevel 5g is :

5g shell , n= 5 subshell g , l = 4, Number of orbitals for sublevel = 9.

There are total four quantum numbers:

1) Principal quantum number , n

2) Angular quantum number , l

3) Magnetic quantum number , ml

4) spin quantum number , ms

For 5g shell, n = 5

subshell g , l = 4     ....0 - s , 1 - p , 2 - d, 3 - f, 4 -g

number of orbitals in subshell = (2l + 1)  ( 2×4 + 1) = 9

Thus,  The n and l values and the number of orbitals for sublevel 5g is :

5g shell , n= 5 subshell g , l = 4, Number of orbitals for sublevel = 9.

What is the vapor pressure of an aqueous solution made up of 60.0g of urea (CH4N2O) in 180g of water? the vapor pressure of wate
djyliett [7]
To get the answer you use the Law of Raoult.

Raoult's law states that the decrease of the vapor pressure of a liquid is proportional to the molar fraction of the solute.

ΔP = Pa * Xa

Here Pa = 0.038 atm

And Xa = N a / (Na + Nb), where Na is number of moles of A and Nb is number of moles of b

Na = mass of urea / molar mass of urea =  60 g / (molar mass of CH4N2O)

molar mass of CH4N2O = 12 g/mol + 4*1g/mol + 2*14 g/mol + 16 g/mol = 60 g/mol

Na = 60 g / 60 g/mol = 1 mol

Nb = mass of water / molar mass of water = 180g / 18g/mol = 10 mol

Xa = 1 mol / (10 mol + 1 mol) = 1/11 =0.09091

ΔP = Pb * Xa = 0.038 atm * 0.09091 =  0.0035 atm

Then, the final vapor pressure of water is Pb - ΔP = 0.038atm - 0.0035atm = 0.035 atm.

If the weight of displaced liquid and the weight of an object are the same, the object will:
s344n2d4d5 [400]

Answer:

Float

Explanation:

If the weight of liquid displaced and the weight of an object are the same, the object will float in the liquid.

From Archimedes principle, when an object is immersed in fluid, a force called upthrust supports it and it equal to the weight of the liquid displaced.

When in a liquid, the weight of the liquid displaced is the same as that of the of the object, it will float and not sink.

Consider the reaction below. HI + H2O mc014-1.jpg H3O+ + I– Which is an acid-conjugate base pair? HI and H2O H2O and H3O+ H3O+ a
lesya692 [45]

Answer: Option (d) is the correct answer.

Explanation:

According to Bronsted-Lowry, species which donate a proton are known as acid. The species which accept a proton are known as a base.

In the given reaction, acids and bases are as follows.

    HI  +   H_{2}O \rightarrow    H_{3}O^{+}           +         I^{-}

 Acid        Base     Conjugate acid   Conjugate base

Therefore, the acid HI loses a proton to form a conjugate base that is I^{-}.

Thus, we can conclude that HI and I^{-} is an acid conjugate base pair.
