Daltons, a unit of molecular weight, are used to measure protein size. The mass of a hydrogen atom, which is 1.66 x 10-24 grammes, is considered to be one Dalton. Since the majority of proteins have masses in the thousands of Dalton range, the term kilodalton (kDa) is frequently used to refer to the molecular weight of proteins.

  • Daltons (Da) or kilodaltons, which are units of molecular weight, are typically used to measure proteins (kDa). By comparing the sizes of standard molecular weight markers of known size that were run in parallel with the unknown samples during gel electrophoresis, one can estimate the sizes of DNA, RNA, or protein molecules that were separated on gels.
  • Different techniques have been used to assess the electrophoretic mobilities of DNA polymer fragments in an agarose gel and then convert those measurements to lengths using the reciprocal method. The length estimations can be greatly distorted by the measurement technique.

2O POINTS!!!! PLEASE HELP!!! I don't understand!! How does earths magnetic field work? PLEASE EXPLAIN!!!! Also help understandin
fenix001 [56]
The magnetic field is a field of magnetism that is in constant contact with everything and it is stronger at the poles of the earth. compasses point towards magnetic north which is a few miles away from true North. refrigerator magnets are much much stronger then the magnetic field so that is why they stick to metal. I do not know what the domain theory is.

Why would an counductor heat up soup?
PilotLPTM [1.2K]

example of a great insulator is a thermos. If you put soup in a thermos, you can open it later and enjoy warm soup on a cold winter day. The thermos insulates the soup, trapping the heat inside. Likewise, if you are playing soccer on a hot August afternoon, your thermos full of ice water stays refreshing and cold.
