Carbon Dating:
Basically when an organism is living it continuously absorbs Carbon-14 (which is a radioactive isotope of Carbon-12).
When the organism dies no more Carbon-14 is absorbed.
This means as the Carbon-14 atoms begin to decay the amount of Carbon-14 in the organism drops.
Scientists compare the amount of Carbon-14 found in the sample compared to the amount of Carbon-14 found in living things to determine the age of the sample.
Hope this helps :)

117 milligrams (mg) of purified product was isolated from a chemical reaction. This experimental yield of product represents a 8
Brut [27]

Answer:

131 mg

Explanation:

Percent yield = 89%

Actual yield = 117 mg

Percent yield is given by

\text{Percent yield}=\dfrac{\text{Actual yield}}{\text{Theoretical yield}}\times 100\\\Rightarrow 89=\dfrac{117}{\text{Theoretical yield}}\times 100\\\Rightarrow \text{Theoretical yield}=\dfrac{117}{89}\times 100\\\Rightarrow \text{Theoretical yield}=131.46\approx 131\ \text{mg}

The theoretical yield, for this reaction is 131 mg.

Write the atomic number, atomic mass, number of protons, electrons and neutrons for the first five elements
stepladder [879]

Answer:

The first five elements of the periodic table are:- hydrogen, helium, lithium, beryllium, boron

Explanation:

atomic number- it is represented by the letter Z. It is basically the total number of protons present in each atom's nucleus of that element.

atomic mass- is the mass of a single atom present in the element.

electrons and protons- they are negatively and positively charged particles found in the nucleus of the atom respectively.

neutrons- they have no or zero charge and weigh more than protons.

element | atomic number | atomic mass | electrons | protons | neutrons

hydrogen (H)-         1           |     1.008        |   1             |     1         |  0

helium (He) -          2           |     4.0026     |      2         |      2       |   2

Lithium (Li) -           3            |      6.94        |       3        |       3      |   4

beryllium (Be) -       4           |      9.0122    |      4         |        4     |    5

Boron   ( B) -            5          |       10.81       |       5        |         5    |     6

How could natural selection lead to speciation?
Harlamova29_29 [7]

Answer:

Speciation can be driven by evolution, which is a process that results in the accumulation of many small genetic changes called mutations in a population over a long period of time. ... Natural selection can result in organisms that are more likely to survive and reproduce and may eventually lead to speciation.
