The balanced chemical reaction is expressed as:

M + F2 = MF2

To determine the moles of the element fluorine present in the product, we need to determine the moles of the product formed from the reaction and relate this value to the ratio of the elements in MF2. We do as follows:

moles MF2 produced = 0.600 mol M ( 1 mol MF2 / 1 mol M ) = 0.600 mol MF2
molar mass MF2 = 46.8 g MF2 / 0.6 mol MF2 = 78 g/mol
moles MF2 = 46.8 g ( 1 mol / 78 g ) = 0.6 mol
moles F = 0.6 mol MF2 ( 2 mol F / 1 mol MF2 ) = 1.2 moles F

Consider the lewis structures for the compound so3 and the polyatomic ions so32- and so42-. which of these must exist as a set o
luda_lava [24]
It is a multiply question but your didn't include the choice in this question but the answer in this question is only so3 or s03 only. So3 is the only one that must exist as a set of resonance structures. So3 may be refer to a sulfur trioxide wich means a chemical compound of both trioxide and sulfur.

Be sure to answer all parts. Plutonium−242 decays to uranium−238 by emission of an α particle with an energy of 4.853 MeV. The 2

Answer:

(a)²⁴²₉₄Pu ⇒ ⁴₂He + ²³⁸₉₂U ⇒ ²³⁸₉₂U + ⁰₀γ

(b) 4.898 MeV

Explanation:

In the nuclear reaction, it was stated that plutonium-242 decayed firstly to uranium-238 and alpha, and lastly to a stable uranium-238 by emitting a gamma ray. The balanced equation for the nuclear reactions is shown below:

(a)²⁴²₉₄Pu ⇒ ⁴₂He + ²³⁸₉₂U ⇒ ²³⁸₉₂U + ⁰₀γ

(b) The energy emitted by releasing a gamma ray is calculated using:

E = hc/λ

where

h = 4.136*10^-15 eV.s

c = 299792458 m/s

λ = 0.02757 nm = 0.02757*10^-9 m

Therefore:

E = (4.136*10^-15)*(299792458)/0.02757*10^-9 = 44974.31 eV

The total energy if the stable 238U was produced directly would be

4.853*10^6 + 44974.31 = 4.898 MeV

What volume of DI water, in mL, must you use to dissolve 30.0 g of NaOH in order to make a 1.25 M solution? mL (round to whole n
jeka57 [31]

Answer:

600mL

Explanation:

Molarity of a solution (M) = number of moles (n) ÷ volume (V)

number of moles = mass/molar mass

Molar mass of NaOH = 23 + 16 + 1

= 40g/mol

mole = 30/40

n of NaOH = 0.75mol

Using Molarity = n/V

V = number of moles ÷ molarity

V = 0.75 ÷ 1.25

V = 0.6L

In milliliters (mL), the volume of NaOH will be 0.6 × 1000

= 600mL
