Answer:

The dimensions of the original picture is 3 inches by 5 inches .

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the length of original picture be x

Let the breadth of original picture be y

A scale drawing is made to enlarge a picture by using a scale factor of 3.

So, Length of enlarged picture = 3x

So, breadth of enlarged picture = 3y

Now we are given that . The enlarged picture is 9 inches by 15 inches.

So, 3x = 9                and       3y=15

      x = \frac{9}{3}                and       y=\frac{15}{3}

       x = 3                 and       y=5

Hence the dimensions of the original picture is 3 inches by 5 inches .

Answer:

  see attached

Step-by-step explanation:

I like to use a spreadsheet for repetitive calculations. The distances are computed from the distance formula:

  d = √((x2 -x1)^2 +(y2 -y1)^2)

The results are shown in the second attachment. The drawing in the first attachment has the lengths rounded to the nearest tenth.

Answer:

the unknown side of the triangle is 2\sqrt{21}

Step-by-step explanation:

a^2+b^2=c^2

4^2+b^2=10^2

16+b^2=100

b^2=100-16

b^2=84

b=\sqrt{84} or 2\sqrt{21}
