<u>Answer</u>

C.39.2 kPa

<u>Explanation</u>

The pressure in liquids depend on the depth or what we call the liquid column(h), the density of the liquid(σ) and the the acceleration due to gravity(g).

h = 4.00 m

σ = 1000 Kg/m³

g = 9.8m/s²

Pressure Is given by;

P = σgh

= 1000 × 9.8 × 4

= 39200 Pa

=39.2 KPa

P=pgh, remeber that g=9.8 , so ignoring the atmosheric pressure you would just multiply 9.8x4 and you would get 39.2KPa

A skier leaves the horizontal end of a ramp with a velocity of 31.0 m/s and lands 156.3 m from the base of a ramp how high is th
BartSMP [9]

<u>Answer:</u>

The height of ramp = 124.694 m

<u>Explanation:</u>

Using second equation of motion,

s = ut + \frac{1}{2}at^2

From the question,

u = 31 m/s; s = 156.3 m, a=0

substituting values

156.3 = 31\times t + 0

t = \frac{156.3}{31 }

= 5.042 s

Similary, for the case of landing

t = 5.042 s; initial velocity, u =0

acceleration = acceleration due to gravity, g = 9.81 m/s^2

Substituting in h = ut + \frac{1}{2}gt^2

h = 0 + \frac{1}{2} \times 9.81 \times (5.042)^2

h = 124.694 m

So height of ramp = 124.694 m

Three capacitors having capacitances of 8.40, 8.40, and 4.20 μFμF, respectively, are connected in series across a 36.0-V potenti
son4ous [18]

Answer:

a)Q=71.4 μ C

b)ΔV' = 10.2 V

Explanation:

Given that

C ₁= 8.7 μF

C₂ = 8.2 μF

C₃ = 4.1 μF

The potential difference of the battery, ΔV= 34 V

When connected in series

1/C = 1/C ₁ + 1/C₂ + 1/C₃

1/ C= 1/8.4 +1 / 8.4 + 1/4.2

C=2.1 μF

As we know that when capacitor are connected in series then they have same charge,Q

Q= C ΔV

Q= 2.1 x 34 μ C

Q=71.4 μ C

b)

As we know that when capacitor are connected in parallel then they have same voltage difference.

Q'= C' ΔV'

C'= C ₁+C₂+C₃        (For parallel connection)

C'= 8.4 + 8.4 + 4.2 μF

C'=21 μF

Q'= C' ΔV'

Q'=3 Q

3 x 71.4= 21 ΔV'

ΔV' = 10.2 V
