... The torpedo gets 20m farther away every second.
... After 100s, it's 2,000m away.

... It explodes.

... They hear it 101.4s after it was launched.
... That's 1.4s after the explosion.
... The sound covered the 2,000m back to them in 1.4 sec.

Speed = distance / time

= 2000m / 1.4s = 1,428.6 m/s (rounded)

Which radiation has no electric charge associated with it?
joja [24]

Answer:

Gamma radiation

Explanation:

There are three types of ionizing radiation:

- Alpha radiation: it consists of alpha particles, which are nuclei of helium (so, they contain 2 protons and 2 neutron) --> therefore, they have a net charge of +2 (given by the positive charge of the two electrons)

- Beta radiation: it consists of electron (in case of beta-minus radiation) or positrons (in case of beta-plus radiation). Therefore, in both cases the radiation is electrically charged: charge -e for the electrons, charge +e for the positrons

- Gamma radiation: it consists of high-energy photons. Since photons are electrically neutral, gamma radiation has no electric charge associated with it.

Question # 40
jenyasd209 [6]

Answer:

Potential Energy = x = m g h

Kinetic energy = 1/2 m v^2

Assuming the mass fall from rest

1/2 m v^2 = m g h

v^2 = 2 g h

So the speed attained is independent of the mass

Also, x / v   does not have the units of mass

So the solution is none of the above.

how many miles can you get on one tank of gas if yout tank holds 18 gallons and you get 22miles per gallon
yaroslaw [1]
Well to find the total miles what I would do is 18 x 22 which would equal 396 so the answer would be: You can go 396mi with a car that gets 22 mpg* and holds 18 gallons

*Mpg=Miles per gallon

A 17 kg box sitting on a shelf has a potential energy of 350 J. How high is the shelf? Round your answer to the nearest whole nu
Free_Kalibri [48]
Potential energy is mass * gravity * height. (m*g*h).

350 = 17*9.8*h   <--350 is its energy, 17kg is its mass, and 9.8 is gravity's acceleration on the object. We now just need to solve for h.

h = 350/(17 * 9.8) =  2.1 meters, which, when rounded to the nearest whole meter, is 2 meters.

The shelf is 2 meters high.

If the electric charge on the object is tripled while its mass remains the same, find the direction and magnitude of its acceler
maksim [4K]
F = qE = mg

E = mg/q = 0.017*9.81('-3.1x10^-6) = 5.38x10^4 = -53,800 N/C

E' = 0.5E = -26,900N/C

 2q -mg= ma, Answer is 9.81 m/s^2  and it's positive because the force is upward.
