1 watt = 1 Joule per second
1 kW = 1,000 watts = 1,000 J/s
1 hour = 3600 seconds
==> 1 kWh = 3,600,000 Joules

Kinetic energy:  KE = 1/2 m v²

3,600,000 J = (1/2) (1,000 kg) (v²)

v² = (3,600,000 J) / (500 kg)  = 7,200 m²/s²

v = √ (7,200 m²/s²)  =  84.8 m/s   (about 190 mph)

From definition 1 kWh = 3600000 J

The formula for KE = 1/2 * m * v^2
3600000 = 1/2 * 1000 * v^2
3600000 = 500v^2
v^2 = 7200
v = 84.85 m/s

A ball at rest rolls across a frictionless floor at 12.0 m/s/s. How far will it travel in
professor190 [17]

Answer:

The distance, d travelled by the ball is 768 metres.

Explanation:

In physics, acceleration can be defined as the rate of change of the velocity of an object with respect to time.

This simply means that, acceleration is given by the subtraction of final speed from the initial speed all over time.

Hence, if we subtract the final speed from the initial speed and divide that by the time, we can calculate an object’s acceleration.

Mathematically, acceleration is given by the equation;

Acceleration (a) = \frac{initial \; speed  -  final \; speed}{time}

a = \frac{v  -  u}{t}

Where,

a is acceleration measured in ms^{-2}

v and u is initial and final speed respectively, measured in ms^{-1}

t is time measured in seconds.

Given the following data;

Acceleration = 12.0m/s²

Time, t = 8secs

Velocity =?

First, we would calculate its velocity;

a = \frac{v  -  u}{t}

Since the ball rolls at rest, initial velocity is zero (0).

V = a * t

V = 12 * 8

Velocity = 96ms^{-1}

We can now solve for the distance;

Velocity = \frac{distance}{time}

Therefore,

Distance = velocity * time

Distance = 96 * 8

Distance = 768m.

A coin completes 18 spins in 12 seconds. The centripetal acceleration of the edge of the coin is 2.2 m/s2. The radius of the coi
stellarik [79]

Answer:

2.5 cm

Explanation:

Number of spins in 12 seconds = 18

Number of spins in 1 second = 18 / 12 = 1.5

Number of spins in one second is called frequency.

f = 1.5 rps

ac = 2.2 m/s^2

Let r be the radius of coin

Centripetal acceleration, ac = r x w^2

2.2 = r x ( 2 x 3.14 x 1.5) ^2

2.2 = r x 88.7364

r = 0.025 m = 2.5 cm

48 grams 12cm^3, what would the density of the material be
Licemer1 [7]
Density is mass over volume:

D =  \frac{m}{V}

In your case, mass is 48 grams and volume is 12cm^3

If you put that into the equation, you will get your density:

D =  \frac{m}{V} =  \frac{48g}{12cm^{3} } =4g/ cm^{3}

What is the force of an object with a mass of 30 kg that is free falling?
disa [49]

Answer:

F = 294.3 [N]

Explanation:

To solve this problem we must use Newton's second law which tells us that force is equal to the product of mass by acceleration. It is this particular case the acceleration is due to the gravitational acceleration since the body is in free fall.

Therefore we have:

F = m*g

where:

F  = force [N]

m = mass = 30 [kg]

g = gravity acceleration = 9.81 [m/s^2]

F = 30*9.81

F = 294.3 [N]
