Answer:

The buoyant force on the wood = 7.652 N

Explanation:

According to the principle of flotation, a body floats when the upthrust exerted upon it by the fluid n which it floats equals the weight of the body.

W = U ............... Equation.

Where W = weight of the wood, U = Upthrust or buoyant force.

Recall That,

Density = mass/volume

Mass = Density×volume

m = D×V........................ Equation 2

Where m = mass of the wood, V = Volume of the wood, D = Density of the wood.

But

Volume of a cube = a³

V = a³ where a = length of the cube.

V = 10³ = 1000 cm³.

Given: V = 1000 cm³ D = 0.780 g/cm³

Substituting these values into equation 2,

m = 1000(0.780)

m = 780 g

m = 0.78 kg.

But W = mg

Where m = 0.78 kg, g = 9.81 m/s²

W = 0.78(9.81)

W = 7.652 N.

Since W = U = 7.652 N.

U = 7.652 N

Therefore the buoyant force on the wood =7.652 N

With a diameter that's 11 times larger than Earth's, _______ is the largest planet.
Svetradugi [14.3K]
With a diameter that's 11 times larger than Earth's, Jupiter is the largest planet.

Jupiter is the biggest planet in the solar system. No wonder ancient astronomers named it after Jupiter, King of the Roman gods. More than 1,000 planets the size of Earth could fit inside Jupiter. A tunnel through Jupiter would be 11 times longer than a tunnel through Earth. A trip around Jupiter equator would take 6 times longer than a trip around the Earth's equator.

The initial and final velocities of two blocks experiencing constant acceleration are respectively −7.45 m/s and 14.9 m/s. (a) T
ikadub [295]

Answer:

a) a_{1}=3.7 m/s^{2}

b) a_{2}=3.68 m/s^{2}

Explanation:

a) The displacement of the first object is 22.5 m, so we can use the next equation:

v_{f}^{2}=v_{i}^{2}+2a\Delta x

a=\frac{v_{f}^{2}-v_{i}^{2}}{2x}

a=\frac{14.9^{2}-(-7.45)^{2}}{2*22.5}

a_{1}=3.7 m/s^{2}

positive acceleration.

b) Using the same equation we can find the second value of the acceleration:

a=\frac{v_{f}^{2}-v_{i}^{2}}{2x}

a=\frac{14.9^{2}-(-7.45)^{2}}{2*22.6}

a_{2}=3.68 m/s^{2}

positive acceleration.

I hope it helps you!

Susan works in the research and development department. She has recently purchased a large high-speed external drive and has att
ivann1987 [24]

     The reason why Susan's drive is not working is that she has connected the drive to a USB 2.0 port, which does not have enough power for her drive.

<h3>What is the USB?</h3>

USB is a short acronym for the original word called a Universal Serial Bus. USB is a connector interface for connecting a computer to peripherals and other devices.

USB comes in different specs such as the:

  • USB 2.0
  • USB 3.0

Some of the characteristics differences between USB 2.0 and 3.0 are:

A USB 2.0 requires 480 Mbps for data transfer speed while USB 3.0 requires 4800 Mbps.

A USB 2.0 has the ability to use a maximum power of 500 mA, while USB 3.0 can make use of up to 900 mA.

From the given information, It is stated that the drive requires a minimum of 400 Mbps and at least 900 mA;

Therefore, it implies that the drive is supposed to work with a power of at least 900 mA for it to work.

But since it is not working, we can conclude that the drive is connected to a USB 2.0 port (500 mA) which does not have enough power for the drive.
