Answer:

40 cm behind the lens

Explanation:

Please refer to the attached picture for the ray tracing, where

f is the focal length

p is the location of the object

q is the location of the image

Each tick in the picture corresponds to 20 cm, so we can observe that

p = 40 cm

f = 20 cm

q = 40 cm

Also, q is inverted, real and same size as the object.

The location of the image, q, can also be verified by using the lens equation:

\frac{1}{q}=\frac{1}{f}-\frac{1}{p}=\frac{1}{20 cm}-\frac{1}{40 cm}=\frac{1}{40 cm}\\q = 40 cm

On a frictionless surface how much force is necessary to accelerate a 0.49 kg object to the left at 4.8 m/s2?
Alenkasestr [34]

Answer:

<h2>2.35 N</h2>

Explanation:

The force acting on an object given it's mass and acceleration can be found by using the formula

force = mass × acceleration

From the question

force = 0.49 × 4.8 = 2.352

We have the final answer as

<h3>2.35 N</h3>

Hope this helps you

What component of a longitudinal sound wave is analogous to a trough of a transverse wave?
anzhelika [568]

Explanation:

There are two components of a longitudinal sound wave which are compression and rarefaction. Similarly, there are two components of the transverse wave, the crest, and trough.

The crest of a wave is defined as the part that has a maximum value of displacement while the trough is defined as the part which corresponds to minimum displacement.

While compression is that space where the particles are close together while the rarefaction is that space where the particles are far apart from each other.

So, the refraction or the rarefied part of a longitudinal sound wave is analogous to a trough of a transverse wave.

8TH GRADE SCIENCE I NEED NOW DO NOT SKIP
yan [13]

Explanation:

1. Force=mass*acceleration

acceleration=force/mass

=100/50

=2m/s^2

2. Gravitational force for downward acceleration= mg-ma=m(g-a) , since a is less than g,

So it will be= 50(9.8-2)

=50(7.8)= 390N
