Answer:
             [OH⁻]  =  1.77 × 10⁻¹¹ M

Solution:
              In order to calculate concentration of hydroxide ion i.e. [OH⁻] first we will find the pOH by using following relation,

                                        pH  +  pOH  =  14

Putting value of pH given and solving for pOH,

                                        3.25  +  pOH  =  14

                                        pOH  =  14  -  3.25

                                        pOH  =  10.75

As ,
                                        pOH  =  -log [OH⁻]
So,
                                        [OH⁻]  =  10^-pOH

Putting value of pOH,

                                        [OH⁻]  =  10⁻¹⁰·⁷⁵

                                        [OH⁻]  =  1.77 × 10⁻¹¹ M

Air-bags can be inflated by the decomposition of sodium azide, NaN3. At 25.0◦C and 1.10 atm, what volume of N2(g) is produced by
Mashcka [7]

Answer:

V = 36.7L of N_{2}

Explanation:

1. Write the chemical reaction for the decomposition of sodium azide:

_{2}NaN_{3}(l)=_{2}Na(s)+_{3}N_{2}(g)

2. Find the number of moles of N_{2} produced by the decomposition of 71.4g of NaN_{3}:

71.4gNaN_{3}*\frac{1molNaN_{3}}{65gNaN_{3}}*\frac{3molesN_{2}}{2molesNaN_{3}}=1.65molesN_{2}

3. Use the ideal gas equation to find the Volume of N_{2} occupied by 1.65 moles of N_{2}, at the temperature and pressure given by the problem:

PV=nRT

Solving for V:

V=\frac{nRT}{P}

Converting the temperature from ◦C to K:

25◦C+273.15=298.15K

Replacing values:

V=\frac{1.65mol*(0.082\frac{atm.L}{mol.K})*298.15K}{1.10atm}

V=36.7L of N_{2}

What is the nature of this chlorine ion?
PIT_PIT [208]
As chlorine has seven electrons in its outer most shell so to complete its octet it has to gain an electron and when it gain an electron it will become an anion that is negatively charged
 so in my opinion and what a conclude is that the option B is correct for the above statement

Which one of the following exhibits dipole-dipole attraction between molecules?
Maslowich

Answer: No one. All these molecules are nonpolar.

Explanation: Dipole-dipole attractions occur only between polar molecules.  To know if a molecule is polar, you have to observe if their dipole moment (μ) is different from 0. You can do this by observing the vectors of charge in each molecule.

In all the molecules of the alternatives, the overall molecule is nonpolar (the sum of the vectors is equal to 0). So, these molecules are attracted only by induced dipole forces (weak forces that exist between nonpolar molecules).

For F2, this molecule is nonpolar because is composed of equal atoms. So, there isn't an atom which pulls the charge for itself.
