You have a flag pole at an angle of 45 degrees to a wall it is designed to support a max torque of 40Nm. You bought a new one wi

th a mass of 8.75kg and the center of mass is 0.750m from the bracket will it support it and at what angle could the new flag pole be placed at to reduce the torque so it can be used?

Answer:

0.915 rad or 52.44 degrees

Explanation:

Let g = 10 m/s2. We can calculate the gravity force acting on center of mass of the new 8.75 kg pole:

F = mg = 8.75 * 10 = 87.5 kg

The moment is the dot product of force and moment arm

M = \vec{F} \cdot \vec{r} = Frcos\theta = 87.5*0.75cos\theta = 65.625cos\theta

where θ is the angle between the gravity force and the pole, or between the pole and the wall. As M can be at its max, which is 40 Nm, we can solve for θ:

62.625cos\theta = 40

cos\theta = 40 / 62.625 = 0.61

\theta = cos^{-1}0.61 = 0.915 rad = 0.915 * 180 /\pi = 52.44^o

A student runs 120 meters in 10 seconds. What is their speed? Question 6 options: 1.2 m/s 1200 m/s 120 m/s 12 m/s
dimulka [17.4K]

Answer:

12 meters per second (12 m/s)

why?

Because if you divide 10 seconds by 10 and 120 by 10, you will get 12 meters in 1 second.

An interference pattern is produced by light with a wavelength 550 nm from a distant source incident on two identical parallel s
ad-work [718]

Answer:

a

 \theta  =  0.0022 rad

b

 I  =  0.000304 I_o

Explanation:

From the question we are told that

   The  wavelength of the light is \lambda  = 550 \ nm  =  550 *10^{-9} \ m

    The  distance of the slit separation is  d = 0.500 \ mm = 5.0 *10^{-4} \ m

Generally the condition for two slit interference  is

     dsin \theta =  m \lambda

Where m is the order which is given from the question as  m = 2

=>    \theta  =  sin ^{-1} [\frac{m \lambda}{d} ]

 substituting values

      \theta  =  0.0022 rad

Now on the second question

   The distance of separation of the slit is

       d =  0.300 \ mm  =  3.0 *10^{-4} \ m

The  intensity at the  the angular position in part "a" is mathematically evaluated as

      I  =  I_o  [\frac{sin \beta}{\beta} ]^2

Where  \beta is mathematically evaluated as

       \beta  =  \frac{\pi *  d  *  sin(\theta )}{\lambda }

  substituting values

     \beta  =  \frac{3.142  *  3*10^{-4}  *  sin(0.0022 )}{550 *10^{-9} }

    \beta  = 0.06581

So the intensity is

    I  =  I_o  [\frac{sin (0.06581)}{0.06581} ]^2

   I  =  0.000304 I_o

Which nuclei is not radioactive? <br> A. Am-241<br> B. Mg-24<br> C. Pu-241<br> D. U-238
Helen [10]

Hello!

Which nuclei is NOT radioactive?

A) Am-241 B) Mg-24 C) Pu-241 D) U-238

Solving:

It is noteworthy that chemical elements located on the periodic table in the lanthanide and actinide groups are radioactive.

Am-241 (americium) belongs to the group of actinides and is a heavy and radioactive metal.

Mg-24 (magnesium) is an essential element for the body, mainly for the nervous system, in addition to synthesizing proteins and serves for hormonal control, belongs to the group of alkaline earth metals and is a non-radioactive nucleus.

Pu-241 (plutonium) is an element that is isotope of fission by plutonium, belongs to the group of actinides and is a heavy and radioactive metal.

U-238 (uranium) is an element that is isotope of non-fission uranium, belongs to the group of actinides and is a heavy and radioactive metal.

Answer:

B) Mg-24
