First, the train travels at 18 m/s for (2000/18) seconds.

Then it travels at 30 m/s for (2000/30) seconds.

Average speed = (total-distance)/(total-time)

Total distance = 4000 meters

Total time = (2000/18 + 2000/30) s

That's (10,000/90 + 6,000/90)

That's (16,000/90) or (1600/9) sec

Average speed = (4000•9/1600) m/s

Average speed = 22.5 m/s

That speed is LESS THAN 25 m/s .

Answer:

It is less than 25m/s as the correct average is 24m/s.

Explanation:

This is becuase you need to take the average of the two speeds (18m/s and 30m/s) 18 + 30 divided by 2 is 24m/s.

On a horizontal surface is located
Ierofanga [76]

By Newton's second law, the net vertical force acting on the object is 0, so that

n - w = 0

where n = magnitude of the normal force of the surface pushing up on the object, and w = weight of the object. Hence n = w = mg = 196 N, where m = 20 kg and g = 9.80 m/s².

The force of static friction exerts up to 80 N on the object, since that's the minimum required force needed to get it moving, which means the coefficient of static friction µ is such that

80 N = µ (196 N) → µ = (80 N)/(196 N) ≈ 0.408

Moving at constant speed, there is a kinetic friction force of 40 N opposing the object's motion, so that the coefficient of kinetic friction ν is

40 N = ν (196 N) → ν = (40 N)/(196 N) ≈ 0.204

And so the closest answer is C.

(Note: µ and ν are the Greek letters mu and nu)

The answer is b) venus because the period rotation is also referred to as a day so if venus’ period of rotation is 243 [earth] days and its year is 225 [earth] days, then the period of rotation is longer.

A 1000 kg elevator accelerates upward at 1.0 m/s2 for 10 m, starting from rest. a. How much work does gravity do on the elevator
cricket20 [7]

Answer:

a)= 98kJ

b)=108kJ

c) = 10kJ

Explanation:

a. The work that is done by gravity on the elevator is:

Work = force * distance

= mass * gravity * distance

= 1000 * 9.81 * 10

= 98,000 J

= 98kJ

b)The net force equation in the cable

T - mg = ma

T = m(g+a)

T = 1000(9.8 + 10)

T = 10800N

The work done by the cable is

W = T × d

= 10800N × 10

= 108000

=108kJ

c) PE at 10m = 1000 * 9.81 * 10 = 98,100 J

Work done by cable = PE +KE

108,100 J = KE + 98,100 J

KE = 10,000 J

= 10kJ
