Answer: The correct answer is A) 100%.

Y linked disease is the one that is caused by genes present on the Y chromosomes. Females have XX and males have XY chromosomes that determine their gender. This means that Y chromosome is only present in males and all male offsprings inherit this chromosome from their father. Whereas, female offsprings inherit X chromosome ( from each parent).

As per the question, family has Y linked disease that affects father.

Thus, there will be 100% chances of inheriting this disease by the male offspring.

Remember that males have an x and y chromosome, while women have two x chromosomes.

This means that a female offspring (daughter) inherits her father's only x chromosome and one of her mother's x chromosomes, while a male will receive his father's y chromosome and one of his mother's x chromosomes.

This means that the boy will necessarily inherit his dad's Y chromosome, and any diseases that it carries.

The chance of a male offspring inheriting the disease is
A) 100%

How do you find the molecular formula from the empirical formula?
miskamm [114]
To find them you would have numbers of the elements in percentage or grams then you divide them by their molar mass to get their moles. From there you divide by the smallest number. Round it to two or one sig fig. If you have a number that is for ex. 2.5 you multiply it by 2 to make it whole as well the other whole numbers. Then to find the molecular formula the problem must give you another molar mass and using your empirical formula convert it to its molar mass then you divide them, larger number over smaller number. You should get a number round it to 1 sig fig. Now you use that number and multiply the subscripts on the empirical formula to get the molecular formula.

Can someone solve this for me I'm confused.
Artemon [7]

Answer:

310.53 g of Cu.

Explanation:

The balanced equation for the reaction is given below:

CuSO₄ + Zn —> ZnSO₄ + Cu

Next, we shall determine the mass of CuSO₄ that reacted and the mass Cu produced from the balanced equation. This can be obtained as follow:

Molar mass of CuSO₄ = 63.5 + 32 + (16×4)

= 63.5 + 32 + 64

= 159.5 g/mol

Mass of CuSO₄ from the balanced equation = 1 × 159.5 = 159.5 g

Molar mass of Cu = 63.5 g/mol

Mass of Cu from the balanced equation = 1 × 63.5 = 63.5 g

Summary:

From the balanced equation above,

159.5 g of CuSO₄ reacted to produce 63.5 g of Cu.

Finally, we shall determine the mass of Cu produced by the reaction of 780 g of CuSO₄. This can be obtained as follow:

From the balanced equation above,

159.5 g of CuSO₄ reacted to produce 63.5 g of Cu.

Therefore, 780 g of CuSO₄ will react to produce = (780 × 63.5)/159.5 = 310.53 g of Cu.

Thus, 310.53 g of Cu were obtained from the reaction.
