Distance is the total length covered = 2m + 3m = 5m

Displacement is his distance from original position.

Displacement =  2m + (-3)m.               Representing the 3m walked back as -3.

Displacement = 2m - 3m = -1m.

So his displacement  is 1m behind his original starting point.

Two coaxial conducting cylindrical shells have equal and opposite charges. The inner shell has charge +q and an outer radius a,
Leviafan [203]

Answer:

\Delta V = \frac{q ln(\frac{b}{a})}{2\pi \epsilon_0 L}

Explanation:

As we know that the charge per unit length of the long cylinder is given as

\lambda = \frac{q}{L}

here we know that the electric field between two cylinders is given by

E = \frac{2k\lambda}{r}

now we know that electric potential and electric field is related to each other as

\Delta V = - \int E.dr

\Delta V = -\int_a^b (\frac{2k\lambda}{r})dr

\Delta V = -2k \lambda ln(\frac{b}{a})

\Delta V = \frac{\lambda ln(\frac{b}{a})}{2\pi \epsilon_0}

\Delta V = \frac{q ln(\frac{b}{a})}{2\pi \epsilon_0 L}

The vector values are 4.0 km due East and 3.0 km due north the resultant vector is 5.0 km long and 37 north of East this values
klemol [59]

Answer:

This values shows a right angle triangle

Explanation:

Given;

a vector 4.0 km due East

a 3.0 km due north

the resultant vector is 5.0 km

The resultant vector can be obtained by Pythagoras theorem if the vectors form a right angle triangle.

R² = 4² + 3²

R² = 16 + 9

R² = 25

R = √25

R = 5 km    (right angle triangle proved)

Therefore, this values shows a right angle triangle

A man of mass 85 kg runs up a flight of stairs of height 4.6 m in a time period
seraphim [82]

Explanation:

a) Power = work / time = force × distance / time

P = Fd/t

P = (85 kg × 9.8 m/s²) (4.6 m) / (12 s)

P ≈ 319 W

b) P = Fd/t

0.70 (319 W) = (m × 9.8 m/s²) (4.6 m) / (9.6 s)

m = 47.6 kg

You took a running leap off a high diving platform. You were running at 3.1 m/s and hit the water 2.4 seconds later. How high wa
rusak2 [61]

The distance you free-fall from rest is  D = (1/2) (g) (T²) <== memorize this

Height of the platform = (1/2) (9.8 m/s²) (2.4 sec)²

Height = (4.9 m/s²) (5.76 s²)

Height = (4.9/5.76) meters

Height = 28.2 meters (a VERY high platform ... about 93 ft off the water !)

Without air-resistance, your horizontal speed doesn't change.  It's constant.  Traveling 3.1 m/s for 2.4 sec, you cover (3.1 m/s x 2/4 s) = 7.4 m horizontally.
