Answer:

The more high yield crops are planted, the more production there will be from plants.

Explanation:

High-yield plants are plants that are genetically modified or modified artificially in a way that makes farming plants more efficient. More crops grow, therefore more money.

The answer is, the more high-yield plants there are, the more efficiency there will be from farming.

Which of the following best describes what we mean by the universe? (A) all the galaxies in all the superclusters(B) the sum tot
EastWind [94]

Answer:

(B) the sum total of all matter and energy

Explanation:

Universe comprises of all the matter and energy that exists in space. It contains billions of stars, planets and interstellar matter that is clouds of dust and gas. There is large amount of the empty space in between.

Universe contains stars as many as grains of sand on all beaches on the Earth. These stars are grouped into galaxies. Milky Way is one of the galaxies.  Galaxies can be grouped into clusters and super-clusters.

A small sphere with mass mcarries a positive chargeqand is attached to one end of a silk fiber of lengthL. The other end of the
Aleksandr-060686 [28]

Answer:

(a):  The magnitude of the electric force on the small sphere = \dfrac{q\sigma}{2\epsilon_o}.

(b): Shown below.

Explanation:

<u>Given:</u>

  • m = mass of the small sphere.
  • q = charge on the small sphere.
  • L = length of the silk fiber.
  • \sigma = surface charge density of the large vertical insulating sheet.

<h2>(a):</h2>

When the dimensions of the sheet is much larger than the distance between the charge and the sheet, then, according to Gauss' law of electrostatics, the electric field experienced by the particle due to the sheet is given as:

\rm E = \dfrac{\sigma}{2\epsilon_o}.

<em>where,</em>

\epsilon_o is the electrical permittivity of the free space.

The electric field at a point is defined as the amount of electric force experienced by a unit positive test charge, placed at that point. The magnitude electric field at a point and the magnitude of the electric force on a charge q placed at that point are related as:

\rm F_e=qE.

Thus, the magnitude of the electric force on the small sphere is given by

\rm F_e = q\times \dfrac{\sigma }{2\epsilon_o}=\dfrac{q\sigma}{2\epsilon_o}.

The sheet and the small sphere both are positively charged, therefore, the electric force between these two is repulsive, which means, the direction of the electric force on the sphere is away from the sheet along the line which is perepndicular to the sheet and joining the sphere.

<h2>(b):</h2>

When the sphere is in equilibrium, the tension in the fiber is given by the resultant of the weight of the sphere and the electric force experienced by it as shown in the figure attached below.

According to the fig.,

\rm \tan \theta = \dfrac{F_e}{W}.

<em>where,</em>

  • \rm F_e = electric force on the sphere, acting along left.
  • \rm W = weight of the sphere, acting vertically downwards.

<em />

\rm F_e = \dfrac{q\sigma}{2\epsilon_o}\\\\W=mg\\\\Therefore,\\\\\tan\theta = \dfrac{\dfrac{q\sigma}{2\epsilon_o}}{mg}=\dfrac{q\sigma}{2mg\epsilon_o}.\\\Rightarrow \theta=\tan^{-1}\left ( \dfrac{q\sigma}{2mg\epsilon_o}\right ) .

How does the 3rd Newtons Law apply to kicking a soccer ball?
tigry1 [53]
If you kick a soccer ball, you exert a force on it in a certain direction.
The soccer ball will exert an equal amount of force but in the opposite direction, which is on your foot. This is felt as ‘recoil’

A spherical bowling ball with mass m = 3.6 kg and radius R = 0.101 m is thrown down the lane with an initial speed of v = 8.7 m/
luda_lava [24]

Answer:

1)  The magnitude of the angular acceleration = 67.92 rad/s^{2}

2) Magnitude of the linear acceleration = 2.744 m/s^{2}

3) How long does it take the bowling ball to begin rolling without slipping = 0.906 s

4) How long does it take the bowling ball to begin rolling without slipping = 6.75 m

5) the final velocity is 6.21 m/s

Explanation:

the given information :

Bowling mass m = 3.6 kg

Radius = 0.101 m

Initial speed v_{0} = 8.7 m/s

Coefficient of kinetic friction μ = 0.28

1) he magnitude of the angular acceleration of the bowling ball is

F = m a

F_{g}  = μ N  ,   N = m g

F_{g}  = μ m g

1) The magnitude of the angular acceleration of the bowling ball as it slides down the lane:

momen inersia of Bowling ball I = (2/5) m R^{2}

torque τ = I α

τ = F R

I α = F R

(2/5) m R^{2}  α = μ m g R

α = (5 μ g / 2R) μ g R

  = (5 x 0.28 x 9.8/ 2 x 0.101)

  = 67.92 rad/s^{2}

2) Magnitude of the linear acceleration of the bowling ball as it slides down the lane

F = - F_{g} , F_{k} is the force of kinetic friction

m a = - μ m g, remove m

the magnitude of linear accelaration is

a = μ g

  = (0.28) (9.8)

  = 2.744 m/s^{2}

3) The bowling ball takes time to begin rolling without slipping:

The linear speed, v_{t} = v_{0} - a t

                            v_{t}  =  v_{0} - μ g t

the angular speed, ω = ω0 + α t

                                ω = ω0 + (5  μ g/2R ) t

v_{t} = ω R

v_{0} - μ g t = ω0 R + (5  μ g/2R ) t R

7 μ g t/2 = v_{0} + ω0 R

hence,

t = (2 v_{0} + ω0 R)/  7 μ g

ω0 = 0 (no initial spin), therefore

t = 2 v_{0} / 7 μ g

 = 2 x 8.7 / 7 (0.28) (9.8)

 = 0.906 s

4) How long it takes for the bowling ball to begin rolling without slipping, S

S = v_{0}  t - (1/2) a t^{2}

  = (8.7) (0.906) - (1/2) (2.744) 0.906^{2}

  = 6.75 m

5) The final velocity

v_{t} = v_{0} - a t

v_{t} = 8.7 - (2.744) (0.906)

v_{t} = 6.21 m/s

A force of 20 N acts toward the east. Another force of 27 N acts at the same point toward the west. What is the magnitude and di
Jet001 [13]
Since we are working in one dimension (left right or East West), we don't need to worry about angles! It's just simply a matter of adding things up!

First list out all the forces and add negative (-ive) signs to each of the 'west' forces like this.

20 East + (-27 West) + ? = 10 East

so it's easy to see that 20 + (-27) = -7
So to get to 10 from -7 just do the sum to get 17.
Since 17 is not negative it must be in the direction of East.
So the answer is:
Magnitude = 17 N
Direction = toward the East
