Elements cannot be broken down in this fashion.

Compounds, homogeneous mixtures, and heterogeneous mixtures can be broken down or separated with chemical processes, or in some cases, just by manual separation.

Well you should study how different chemicals work, and make flashcards to carry around or make notes during class to study for later

2A1 (s) + 3C12 (g) --> 2AlCl3 (s) (balanced)
Dennis_Churaev [7]

Answer:

32.3%

Explanation:

Percent yield is defined as:

Actual yield (125.5g) / Theoretical Yield * 100

To find theoretical yield we have to find the moles of aluminium. As 2 moles of Al produce 2 moles of AlCl3, the moles of Al = Moles AlCl3.

With these moles we can find the mass assuming a 100% of yield (Theoretical Yield) as follows:

<em>Moles Al = Moles AlCl3 (Molar mass Al = 26.98g/mol)</em>

72g Al * (1mol / 26.98g) = 2.67 moles AlCl3

<em>Mass AlCl3 (Molar mass: 133.34g/mol)</em>

2.67 moles AlCl3 * (133.34g / mol) = 355.8g AlCl3

Percent Yield = 125.5g / 355.8g * 100 =

Classifying a carbon atom by the number of carbons to which it is bonded can also be done in more complex molecules that contain
defon

A sp³ hybridized carbon atom is the one which forms 4 single bonds with other atoms.

In the structure of Bilobalide, we can see 12 sp³ hybridized carbon atoms which are attached to other carbon, hydrogen and oxygen atoms.

In order to classify carbon atoms as 1°, 2°, 3°, or 4° we need to take a look at the atoms to which these carbon atoms are attached.

A 1° carbon atom is the one which is attached to only 1 carbon atom.

In the diagram, we can see 3 methyl groups ( -CH3) being attached to only 1 carbon atom. There is one more primary carbon atom.

There are 4 primary carbon atoms in Bilobalide.

A 2° carbon atom is the one which is attached to 2 other carbon atoms.

In Bilobalide we can see 4 secondary carbon atoms.

A 3° carbon atom is the one which is attached to 3 other carbon atoms.

In Bilobalide we can see only 1 tertiary carbon atom.

A 4° carbon atom is the one which is attached to 4 other carbon atoms.

In Bilobalide we can see 3 quaternary carbon atoms.

Please see the attached image for classification.

An excess of oxygen reacts with 451.4 g of lead, forming 374.7 g of lead(II) oxide. Calculate the percent yield of the reaction.
Stels [109]

Answer: The percent yield of the reaction is 77.0 %

Explanation:

2Pb+O_2\rightarrow 2PbO

\text{Number of moles}=\frac{\text{Given mass}}{\text{Molar mass}}

\text{Number of moles of lead}=\frac{451.4g}{207.2g/mol}=2.18moles

\text{Number of moles of lead oxide}=\frac{374.7g}{223.2g/mol}=1.68moles

According to stoichiometry:

2 moles of Pb produces = 2 moles of PbO_2

2.18 moles of Pb is produced by=\frac{2}{2}\times 2.18=2.18moles of PbO_2

Mass of PbO_2 =moles\times {\text {Molar mass}}=2.18\times 223.2g/mol=486.6

percent yield =\frac{374.7g}{486.6g}\times 100=77.0\%
