Answer:

\frac{x^2}{14^2} +\frac{y^2}{10^2} =1

Step-by-step explanation:

Given is the equation of an ellipse in standard form.

Centre is at the origin.

So ellipse would have equation as

\frac{x^2}{a^2} +\frac{y^2}{b^2} =1

To find a and b:

Since width is more than height this is horizontal ellipse with a>b

2a = width= 28 ft

2b = height =20 ft

a = 14 ft, b = 10 ft

\frac{x^2}{14^2} +\frac{y^2}{10^2} =1

The standard equation of an ellipse is:

(x/h)^2+(y/k)^2=1  where h and k are the radii of the x and y axis...so

(x/14)^2+(y/10)^2=1 or if you prefer

x^2/196+y^2/100=1

Cos(2x) - 3cos(x) + 2= 0 ??
alexandr1967 [171]
Ignore above
your equation is 2(cosx)^2-3cosx+1=0
use quadratic formula to get results
you will end up with
cosx=1 or cosx=1/2
so, x=0 or x=pi/3

Use the expression below:
skelet666 [1.2K]

Answer:

Part A: 8b -12c -16

Part B: 4(2b - 3c -4)

Part C: 36

Step-by-step explanation:

Part A:

5b + 3c - 20 + 3b - 15c + 4

= 8b -12c -16

Part B:

Factorising 8b -12c -16

= 4(2b - 3c -4)

Part C:

= 4[2(2)-3(-3)-4)]

= 4[4+9-4]

= 4[9]

= 36
