A team of researchers are working on a project to make a new kind of airplane fuel. During their experiment, there was an explos

ion that destroyed the lab. While they were cleaning up the debris, they discovered a number of pieces of frozen metal. The scientific community was amazed. The researchers were so excited to report that they had discovered a fuel that burns so hot that it becomes cold. They were not sure of the true importance of their discovery but they knew it was something that had never been seen before. The researchers quickly wrote up a report, created a press release, and applied for a patent. The news spread quickly through the world wide scientific community and soon other scientists were trying to replicate their experiment. Much to the relief of the original team or researchers, no other scientist could ever replicate their find.
Would this example be considered science or pseudoscience? Support your decision with at least three reasons.

This is Pseudoscience. The scientists didn’t study their experiment, they would have to prove their claim more than once, and they assumed things before actually studying it.

A compound is found to have a composition of 35.880% Cr, 21.076% P, and 43,545% O
stepan [7]

Explanation:

Cr=35.880/51=0.73≈0.7

P=21.076/31=0.67≈0.7

O=43.543/16=2.71

Divide each by 0.7 u get

Cr=1 ,P =1, O=4

Empirical formula is CrPO4

1. What is the mass of a rock that has a density of 2.5 grams per cubic centimeter and a volume of 4.0
dangina [55]

Answer:

Explanation:

d =

m

V

m = d×V

V =

m

d

DENSITY

Density is defined as mass per unit volume.

d =

m

V

Example:

A brick of salt measuring 10.0 cm x 10.0 cm x 2.00 cm has a mass of 433 g. What is its density?

Step 1: Calculate the volume

V = lwh = 10.0 cm × 10.0 cm × 2.00 cm = 200 cm³

Step 2: Calculate the density

d =

m

V

433

g

200

= 2.16 g/cm³

MASS

d =

m

V

We can rearrange this to get the expression for the mass.

m = d×V

Example:

If 500 mL of a liquid has a density of 1.11 g/mL, what is its mass?

m = d×V = 500 mL ×

1.11

g

1

m

L

= 555 g

VOLUME

d =

m

V

We can rearrange this to get the expression for the volume.

V =

m

d

Example:

What is the volume of a bar of gold that has a mass of 14.83 kg. The density of gold is 19.32 g/cm³.

Step 1: Convert kilograms to grams.

14.83 kg ×

1000

g

1

k

g

= 14 830 g

Step 2: Calculate the volume.

V =
