A driver of a car enters a new 110 km/h speed zone on the highway. the driver immediately begins to accelerate and reaches 110 k

m/h after driving 500 m. if the original speed was 80 km/h, what was the driver’s acceleration?

The formula for calculating acceleration can be derived from:

v^2 = v0^2 + 2 a d

where a is acceleration, v is final velocity, v0 is initial velocity and d is distance = 0.5 km

Rewriting in terms of a:

a = (v^2 – v0^2) / 2 d

a = (110^2 – 80^2) / (2 * 0.5)

<span>a = 5,700 km/h^2 = 0.44 m/s^2</span>

Today, scientists believe that the main reason the Earth has had periodic ice ages is:____________.
horsena [70]

Answer:

Today, scientists believe that the main reason the earth has had periodic ages is that the climate of earth is controlled by the difference in heating of it's surface by the sun. As for example, the equatorial regions are the warmest as the sun is vertically overhead of those areas and the polar regions where the sun is at the extreme angels are the coldest ones.

How much energy (in Joules) is released when 12.0 g of water cools from 20.0 °C to 11.0 °C? This is a grade 10 question from the
KATRIN_1 [288]

Answer: - 452.088joule

Explanation:

Given the following :

Mass of water = 12g

Change in temperature(Dt) = (11 - 20)°C = - 9°C

Specific heats capacity of water(c) = 4.186j/g°C

Q = mcDt

Where Q = quantity of heat

Q = 12g × 4.186j/g°C × - 9°C

Q = - 452.088joule

A 12.0-cm long cylindrical rod has a uniform cross-sectional area A = 5.00 cm2. However, its density increases linearly from 2.6
andriy [413]

Answer:

(a) The constants required describing the rod's density are B=2.6 and C=1.325.

(b) The mass of the road can be found using A\int_0^{12}\left(B+Cx)dx

Explanation:

(a) Since the density variation is linear and the coordinate x begins at the low-density end of the rod, we have a density given by

2.6\frac{g}{cm^3}+\frac{18.5\frac{g}{cm^3}-2.6\frac{g}{cm^3}}{12 cm}x = 2.6\frac{g}{cm^3}+1.325x\frac{g}{cm^2}

recalling that the coordinate x is measured in centimeters.

(b) The mass of the rod can be found by having into account the density, which is x-dependent, and the volume differential for the rod:

m=\int\rho dv=\int\left(B+Cx\right)Adx=5\int_0^{12}\left(2.6+1.325x\right)dx=126.6,

hence, the mass of the rod is 126.6 g.
