For a linear function, the instantaneous rate of change is everywhere equal to the slope. Thus the rate of change of the function h(x)=2x on the interval 2≤x≤4
The rate of change of the function given will equal to its slope, thus;
slope,m=(y-1-y)/(x_1-x)
=(2*4-2*2)/(4-2)
=(8-4)/2
=4/2
=2

the answer is 2

Write a cubic function with zeros of -3, -5 and 2
Lady bird [3.3K]
For zeroes of r1,r2,r3, the factors of the function, f(x) are
(x-r1)(x-r2)(x-r3)

zeroes of -3,-5,2
(x-(-3))(x-(-5))(x-2)=
(x+3)(x+5)(x-2)

f(x)=(x+3)(x+5)(x-2)
expanded
f(x)=x³+6x²-x-30

Jessie's school has 570 students. Thirty percent of the students are eighth-graders. One-third of eighth-graders walk to school.
Paraphin [41]

Answer:

57

Step-by-step explanation:

10% of 570 = 57 (dividing by 10). Times that by 3, which is 171. Now divide 171 by 3, equals 57 (the answer).

Find the slope of the line through each pair of points.<br><br> (19, −2), (−11, 10)
Stels [109]

Answer:

slope = -\frac{2}{5}

Step-by-step explanation:

1) Calculate the slope using slope formula, \frac{y_2-y_1}{x_2-x_1}. Use the two points given, substitute their x and y values into the formula, and solve.

\frac{(10)-(-2)}{(-11)-(19)} \\= \frac{10+2}{-11-19} \\= \frac{12}{-30}\\= -\frac{2}{5}

Thus, the slope is -\frac{2}{5}.

40.5 ÷ 5.how do I solve this
Dmitrij [34]
Maybe go about it this way:

40 divided by 5 equals 8
0.5 divided by 5 equals 0.1
Therefore, you add the two together to get the answer of 8.1

Hope this helped!! xx
