It is an autoimmune disease that affects the joints and mostly the involved is of wrists and hands.
The cause of this condition is unclear .
The mechanism is that the defense cells of the body attacks its own healthy cells .In this case joints and bone, that cause thickening of the joint capsule leading to inflammation and pain .

tender joints
stiffness of joint , that can worsen after sometime of inactivity
