A group of people in an art class and a crafts class were surveyed whether they exercise more than 5 hours a week or less than 5

hours a week. In the art class, 5 people exercise more than 5 hours a week and 8 people exercise less than 5 hours a week. In the crafts class, 10 people exercise more than 5 hours a week and 4 people exercise less than 5 hours a week.
What is the relative frequency of people who exercise more than 5 hours a week in the art class to the total number of people surveyed?

The information above is represented on a two-ways table as shown below.

Total students surveyed is 27 students

The relative frequency of people who exercise more than 5 hours and in the art class is 5/27

malfutka [58]
<span>The answers are b = 5 square root of 3; b = -5 square root of 3. f(b) = b^2 – 75. If f(b) = 0, then b^2 – 75 ) 0. b^2 = 75. b = √75. b = √(25 * 3). b = √25 * √3. b = √(5^2) * √3. Since √x is either -x or x, then √25 = √(5^2) is either -5 or 5. Therefore. b = -5√3 or b = 5√3.</span>

Write the equation of the line shown in point-slope form. (2,1) (3,8)
Ulleksa [173]

<u>Answer:</u>

The line equation that passes through the given points is 7x – y = 13

<u>Explanation:</u>

Given:

Two points are A(2, 1) and B(3, 8).

To find:

The line equation that passes through the given two points.

Solution:

We know that, general equation of a line passing through two points (x1, y1), (x2, y2) in point slope form is given by

\frac{(y- y1)}{(x-x_1)}= \frac{((y_2- y_1)}{(x_2- x_1 )}

{(y- y1)= \frac{((y_2- y_1)}{(x_2- x_1 )}\times(x-x_1)..........(1)

here, in our problem x1 = 3, y1 = 8, x2 = 2 and y2 = 1.

Now substitute the values in (1)

(y-8) = \frac{(1 - 8)}{(2 - 3)}\times(x- 3)

(y -8) = \frac{(- 7)}{(-1)}(x-3)

y – 8 = 7(x – 3)

y – 8 = 7x – 21

7x – y = 21 – 8

7x – y = 13

Hence, the line equation that passes through the given points is 7x – y = 13
