Answer:

15.38 m.

Explanation:

The kinetic energy of the block is equal to potential energy of spring at maximum compression

1/ 2 m V² = 1 /2 K X²

m is mass of block , V is its velocity , K is spring constant and X is maximum compression or its amplitude.

X = V\times\sqrt{\frac{m}{K} }

Putting the values

x = 79.856\times\sqrt{\frac{.717}{19.32} }

= 15.38 m.

Water starts off its existence as a polarized molecule. A stream of water is deflected towards a nearby electrically charged obj
trapecia [35]

Answer:

Option d) can not be determined from the given information

Explanation:

Water is a polar molecule consisting of 2 positive hydrogen atoms and a negative oxygen atom.

When a stream of water is deflected by positively charged object, the water molecules are oriented in such a way that oxygen in water, being negatively charge gets attracted to the charged object and aligns near the object whereas hydrogen aligns on the opposite side overcoming the inter-atomic repulsion.

Similar is the case with hydrogen in case the object is negatively charged.

Therefore, it explains that water is a polar molecule and gets attracted to both positive and negative charges and hence, the sign of the object can not be determined.

two teams are playing tug of war. team a pulls to the right with a force of 450n .team b pulls to the left with a force of 415 n
Alex_Xolod [135]

Explanation:

It is given that, two teams are playing tug of war.

Force applied by Team A, F_A=450\ N

Force applied by Team B, F_B=415\ N

We need to find the net force acting on the rope. It is equal to :

F_{net}=F_A-F_B

F_{net}=450-415

F_{net}=35\ N

So, the net force acting on the rope is 35 N and it is acting toward right. Hence, this is the required solution.

Which of the following summarizes cellular respiration?
3241004551 [841]

The statement which summarizes cellular respiration is Oxygen reacts with glucose to produce carbon dioxide and water, and release energy.

What is cellular respiration?

Cellular respiration is the process by which food, in the form of glucose is transformed into energy within cells.

The food is prepared by the plants by the process of photosynthesis in presence of sunlight. This food is in the form of glucose.

The respiration of plants is done by breaking of glucose by absorbing oxygen. This produces carbon- di- oxide and water along with the release of energy.

Thus, the cellular respiration is oxygen reacts with glucose to produce carbon dioxide and water, and release energy.

What is the energy stored in the 10.5 μ F 10.5 μF capacitor of a heart defibrillator charged to 8250 V ?
Kay [80]

Answer:

356.33 J

Explanation:

Energy: This can be defined as the ability or the capacity to do work. The S.I unit of Energy is Joules (J).

The Energy stored in a capacitor = 1/2CV²

E = 1/2CV².............................. Equation 1.

Where E = Energy stored in a capacitor, C = capacitance of the capacitor, V = potential difference across the plates of the capacitor.

Given: C = 10.5 μF = 10.5×10⁻⁶ F, V = 8250 V.

Substitute into equation 1

E = 1/2(10.5×10⁻⁶)(8250)²

E = 357.33 J.

Thus the energy stored in the defibrillator = 356.33 J
